Director Of Nyk Visits Sahyadri

Shri Sharif Uz-zaman Laskar an eminent person and member in the present Board of Governors of Nehru Yuva Kendra visited Sahyadri.  Shri  Sharif Uz-zaman Laskar is also a Member of The Local Board of The Reserve Bank of India, Eastern Region, situated in the District of Cachar, Assam. He visited Sahyadri and also interacted with our Chairman.  In a brief discussion he apprised the role and activities of the Kendra and the scope for the rural youth. 

The objectives of Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS) are twofold viz:  to involve the rural youth in nation building activities and to develop such skills and values in them with which they become responsible and productive citizens of a modern, secular and technological nation. His main focus is to involve the youth in sports, arts, culture, life-skills and leadership qualities and on developing values of good citizenship, thinking and behaving in secular ways, skill development and helping youth to adopt a productive and organized behaviour.

Shri Sharif Uz-zaman Laskar was in the city on a brief visit during the 17th National Youth Festival. He was awe struck at the infrastructure and facilities provided by the College and the rapid growth of the College within a short span of 4 years.
