Delegates of TCS and GHENT University at Sahyadri
Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management organized a day workshop on Transformation of students into Industry Workforce. Mr. Vinay Biradar, Assistant General Manager, TCS, delivered the Key note address. In his address, he stressed the faith, skills, team work, honesty and respecting each other are the vital factors to achieve magnificent work. The present corporate world expects such qualities among the students.
Mr. Arun G.K, Campus Recruitment Lead TCS (Karnataka & Kerala), Dr. Shankara K Prasad, CEO, Sampoorna Swaraj Foundation, Prof. Balagangadhara Rao, Director, Ghent University Belgium, Sri. Amar Kumar Pandey, IGP & Director- KPA, Mysore were also some of the other resource persons. Mr. I. Prithveesh, Associate Campus Recruitment Lead TCS was also present.
Mr. Arun G.K elaborated in his talk that good management is the key to any Institution. Corporates look beyond academics at 3 C’s in students namely: Competency, Capability and Culture. He also added that students need to communicate with content and clarity
Dr. Shankara K. Prasad delivereing the lecture on “Presencing the future, Innovation for the developing world” said that one has to work with will and determination for the inclusive growth of the society. To achieve this, every individual has to be the agent of change.
Dr. Balagangadhara Rao dealt with the topic of “What on earth does Social Science have to do with Engineering or with being a Successful Engineer” where he focused on the importance of ethics and values to groom as a successful person. He also stressed that Indians have tremendous strength and stamina in all aspects but the only thing is that it is not channelized in the right direction. It is the need of the hour to build and invest in a research environment for the younger generation.
Mr. Amar Kumar Pandey spoke on “Ordinary to extra-ordinary” in which he threw light on the uniqueness of one’s potentiality. It can really take an individual to the highest level. He focused on 12 luminary figures who have achieved extra ordinary milestones in their life.
Mr. Manjunath Bhandary, President, Bhandary Foundation gave a comprehensive picture about the college and its functioning. More than 400 students took part in the workshop. Students had an interactive session with the resource persons.
