HR Symposium - Two-day workshop on “Managing Human Resource during Economic Slowdown”
Day - 1
Mr. E. S. Chakravarthy, Head, Talent Acquisition, TCS, Bangalore inaugurated a two-day HR Symposium on “Managing Human Resource during Economic slowdown” organized by Department of MBA. In his address, he stressed the significance of learning strong fundamentals in education that plays a vital role in shaping one’s future. This aspect truly encourages facing any eventualities in life. He also pointed out the learning of culture should always be like an open book that entertains working as a team what Tata group is all about. Because of this the Tata Group and TCS is emerging as the leader on the global map. He appealed to the delegates to have strong articulation skills which are the need of the hour in the fast growing world. He also appreciated with heart and soul about the infrastructure of the Institution. Mr. Manjunath Bhandary, Chairman – Bhandary Foundation gave his Presidential address. In his address he advised the delegates to learn the habit of sharing experience and learning from each one. This attitude helps to groom as a perfect individual. Dr. D. L. Prabhakara, Director, Sahyadri Educational Institutions graced the function. Dr. Umesh M. Bhushi, Principal Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management gave a glimpse of Sahyadri Educational Institutions and welcomed the gathering. Dr. A. P. Achar gave a panorama about the HR Symposium. 250 delegates are taking part in a two day national level Symposium. After the inaugural function three technical sessions were held on topics such as Indian labour Market-Future Trajectories, Economic slowdown and its impact on Human Resource Management, Employee Retention: Strategies and solutions by Dr. Bino Paul,Professor-Tata Institute of social science, Mr. Praveen Kamath - Global Recruitment Head,Wipro and Mr. Anilesh Seth - Co Founder ,KROW,respectively.
Day - 2
Dr. Bino Paul, Professor, Tata Institute of Social Science interacted with Computer Science engineering students. In his intermingle, he advised the students to inculcate a habit of learning new concepts during the engineering course that gives solid foundation to explore and experiment the knowledge to achieve uniqueness in life.
Dr. Dinesh Anvekar, Six Sigma Specialist Honeywell Technologies Ltd addressed the final year Students of Mechanical engineering. In his address, he threw light on the significance of updating the knowledge in the respective area of engineering. These are the attitudes that students need to imbibe for the betterment of their career.
Ms. Ashwini SKumar, Co-Founder, Director & COO, GLOPORE IMS, Bangalore intermingled with Electronics and Communication engineering students. In her interaction she gave a comprehensive note on the latest developments in the field of software. She also asked the students to cultivate a sense of quest for innovation that takes them to the highest level. Students learnt latest developments in the area of software.
Valedictory Function
Ms. Ashwini SKumar, Co-Founder, Director & COO, GLOPORE IMS, Bangalore, was the Chief guest for the valedictory function . In her address she pointed out the significance of industry interaction with educational institutions that truly minimizes the gap between industry and academia. She also threw light on in the fast changing world it is need of the hour to work in tandem between these two organizations which helps to produce concrete and quality work. She appreciated facilities, infrastructure of the institution and for taking such a magnificent initiative in bringing industry and academia on to one platform. Dr Umesh M Bhushi Principal Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management presided over the function. In his address he highlighted that Sahyadri Educational Institutions always stands on its toe in updating its knowledge for the betterment of students and faculty members. He expressed while thanking the participants that the success of this two days H R Symposium is beacuse of the unique delegates.
The delegates expressed their deep sense of appreciation for organizing a stupendous programme that enriched their knowledge. At the same time they thanked the institution for its fabulous hospitality.
