Twenty MBAs get placed at HDFC Bank

In the recently held Pool Campus Drive for the position of Personal Banker-Sales, a total of 20 MBA students of Sahyadri have been selected out of the final 34 recruits from the Pool Campus Drive.

HDFC Bank was incorporated in August 1994. As of December 31, 2018, the bank had a nationwide distribution network of 4,963 branches and 13,160 ATM's in 2,727 cities / towns.

Delegates from Ernst & Young LLP visit Sahyadri

Mr. Furqan Warsi, Director-FAAS, Learning Solutions and Mr. Asif Chowgule, Assistant Manager-Financial Accounting Advisory Services of Ernst and Young LLP, visited our campus. Mr. Furqan addressed Director-MBA, HOD’s and Deans regarding the various certification programmes offered by EY for MBA and Engineering. He also offered to customize the programme for Sahyadri.

Later Mr. Furqan and Mr. Asif also had a discussion with MBA faculty team regarding making Sahyadri as Nodal Centre for EY courses, placements and offered assistance to conduct Workshops/Seminars, FDP and MDP Programmes.

The EY team also visited the in-house companies & startups and expressed their happiness to experience the learning centre created for students.

Campus Recruitment Drive - Usha Armour

Usha Armour conducted a Recruitment drive for the Mechanical Engineering and Electronics & Communication Engineering students of 2019 outgoing batch. A total of 46 students participated in the recruitment drive, out of which 11 students were shortlisted for the position of Digital Marketing for the female candidates, and Production & Marketing position for the male candidates, for further rounds of interview.

MBAs on Industry Visit to Delhi Metro Museum

A total of 26 students along with their Mentors – Prof. Ramesh KG, Prof. Girish M, Prof. Manjunath Kamath and Prof. Samarth Shenoy had been to Delhi Metro Museum as a part of industry visit which is situated at Patel Chowk Metro Station Delhi. Mr. Mukesh Khanna, the museum curator addressed students about the history of metros' in Delhi. Students had an opportunity to see functional miniature model of the machinery which is used to make the metro tunnels and current running metro rail. The Delhi Metro Museum was established in the year 2008. The metro museum showcases the genesis, history and journey of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC). Museum curator appreciated Sahyadri for such initiative and it was an immense learning experience for the students.

Introduction of Mentor:
Prof. Madhu R has 1.5 years of teaching experience. She pursued her B.E in CS&E from Vivekananda College of Engineering, Puttur and M.Tech in Computer Network Engineering from NMAMIT, Nitte. Her area of interest and specialization is Networking and Cyber security.

Introduction of the Mentees:
• ANVITHA SHETTY is from Mangaluru. She pursued her high school in St. Agnes Girls High School, Mangaluru and PU in St. Aloysius PU College, Mangaluru. She has good communication and time management skills and is a Semi-classical dancer. She aspires to be a Software engineer.
• SHARAN SUDHIR KINDALKAR is from Sullia. He pursued his high school in Bethany High school, Sullia and PU in Ambika PU College, Sullia. He has a good collection of stamps and is a cricket player. He aspires to join defence and serve for Indian Navy.
• MANJU KRISHNA is from Mangaluru. He pursued his high school in A.J.I.S.S English medium high school, Mangaluru and PU in Canara PU College, Mangaluru. He is a team player and a football player. He aspires to become an entrepreneur and contribute to the field of cyber security.
• SAMHITHA is from Mangaluru. She pursued her high school in Amritha Vidyalayam, Mangaluru and PU from Canara PU College, Mangaluru. She is a Self learner, a Singer and a Classical dancer. She aspires on becoming both a successful Engineer and an Artist.
• SANYA ALVA is from Bengaluru. She pursued her high school in St. Francis’ High School, Bengaluru and PU in Christ Academy, Bengaluru. She has good communication skills and is a dancer. She aspires to be a successful engineer and work for a reputed corporate organization.
• VITAL is from Mangaluru. He pursued his high school in Canara High school, Mangaluru and PU in Canara PU College, Mangaluru. He has good communication skills and is good at ethical hacking. He is good in programming languages and aspires to be a coding expert.
• GAURAV B L is from Mangaluru. He pursued his high school in Milagres High school, Mangaluru and PU in St. Aloysius’ PU College, Mangaluru. He has good communication and presentation skills. He is an expert in movie making and has also bagged many awards for his pencil sketches. He aspires to adopt his artistic skills w.r.t his engineering discipline.
• PRAJWAL KUMAR is from Kumbla, Kasargod. He pursued his high school in Little Lilly High school, Kasargod and PU in Madhusudhana Kushe, Kasargod. He is a good team worker and a Cricket player. He is good with programming languages and aspires to be a reputed software engineer.

Prof. SMITHA A B has 2.5 years of teaching experience. She has pursued BE from Sridevi Institute of Technology and M.Tech in VLSI Design and embedded system from Sahyadri.

• Kiran Kumar is from Mangaluru. He did his schooling from Canara High School and PUC from Canara PU College. His hobbies are reading books, listening music, playing games. He is very interested in kabaddi and won several prizes in school and college. He aspires to work in Indian Navy and serve the country.
• Pooja P Naik is from Udupi. She did her schooling from Govt High School Brahmavar and PUC from Shamili PU College, Kidiyoor. She aspires to achieve in the field of robotics. Her hobbies are Reading books, Dancing and Listening to music.
• Sethupathi is from Mangaluru. He did his schooling from Sharada Vidyalaya and PUC from Sharada PU College. His hobbies are playing Sports especially kabaddi, Cricket, and Reading articles/news. His aspiration is to become a navy officer.
• Dhiraj D Puthuran is from Mangaluru. He did his schooling from SMEMS Surathkal and PUC from Sharada PU College. He is interested in sports activities. Dhiraj has participated in national level athletics in school, college and won prizes. He aspires to work in Indian army and serve the country.

Prof. Pavanalaxmi has 6 years of teaching experience. She has completed her B. E. in Electronics & Communication Engineering from NMAMIT, Nitte and M. Tech. in Digital Communication & Networking from GIT, Belgaum. Her areas of research include Communication, Networking, and Control System.

• NAYANA RAO is from Kundapur. She did her 10th and PUC from Mother Teresa Memorial School, Shankaranarayana, Kundapur Taluk. She has participated in throw ball competitions at Taluk level. Her hobbies are painting, pencil sketching, and Rangoli. Her career aspiration is to become an engineer in a reputed multinational company.
• Ranjith Singh is from Mangaluru. He has done his 10th from Narayana Guru School and PUC from Sharada PU College, Mangaluru. He has secured many prizes in Science modelling during school and PU level and has done internship in NITK Virtual Lab. His hobbies are singing, writing poems, stories. His future goal is to become an entrepreneur in the field of training and teaching. He wishes to be financially independent to fulfil his dreams.
• Vishnudas Nayak P is from Mangaluru. He has done his 10th from Canara High School, Urva and PU from Canara PU College, Mangaluru. He has secured 2nd place in Conceptual Prototype for civil project. She has secured many prizes in Cultural program organized under Pratibha Karanji and have secured 5th place in Trend-O-Quest for Line following robot at NIT Rourkela. • Nihal N is from Mangaluru. He has done his 10th from K. V. No-1 Panambure and PU from BOSCOS PU College, Mangaluru. He has secured many prizes under cultural, sports and project in state and national level. He has a black belt in Karate. He aspires to become a Scientist to develop a Humanoid Robot.
