Student of Fourth Semester, ISE, Selected as GitHub Campus Expert

Mr. Swasthik Shetty, a student of Fourth Semester, Information Science & Engineering has been selected as the GitHub Campus Expert and has completed his training from GitHub. He is also the lead of Hack Club Sahyadri and a member of Sahyadri Open Source Community (SOSC) and Mozilla Club Sahyadri.
GitHub Campus Expert is a program by GitHub to enrich the technical communities in college campuses. They train students to improve their technical and professional skills including public speaking, technical writing, community leadership, and software development skills that will help one improve learning opportunities in their campus.
They receive training from GitHub employees, opportunities to participate in exclusive events, and support to help you grow the developer community at the school.

Tarapur Nuclear Power Station collaborates with Sahyadri-Caliper

Sahyadri-Caliper, Academia-Industry collaboration is working again for yet another Nuclear Power Project.
Tarapur Nuclear Power Station (TPS) collaborates with Sahyadri-Caliper to develop Reciprocating Pump spares like Bearing House which are imported till now. This project comes under "Make in India" initiative. Design is already approved by TPS and manufacturing actions are initiated by Caliper under the technical guidance of the Dept. of Mechanical Engineering.
Sahyadri becomes an abode for several "Make In India" projects enabling students to acquire hands-on Hi-Tech skills every day.

ACM-S hosted ACM-S 1.0 – Webinar-3 facilitated by Data Scientist-II at OYO

ACM Sahyadri hosted ACM-S 1.0 – Webinar-3 on 27th June’2020 as a part of the ACM-S 1.0 Webinar series. Mr. Nitin Kamal, Data Scientist-II at OYO and Co-Founder, The Data Monk, was the Guest Speaker.
Mr. Nitin Kamal is a Driven Analytics Practitioner who is passionate about solving difficult problems and continuous learning. He has worked on two projects to provide insights on the online activity of a couple of Fortune 500 companies. He spoke on the topic "How to make a career in Data Science” He related his journey towards Data Science, and briefed on how to begin a career in Data Science.
Mr. Nithin also explained about why skills like SQL, Python, Machine Learning (Specifically Linear Regression and Logistic Regression) etc. are helpful in a Data Science Career.
