Indian Coast Guard (ICG) visits Sahyadri

Commandant Kaustubh Mulye and his team of assistant commandants viz. Dhaneswaran, Siddharth and Rahul Sharma visited Sahyadri to give an orientation talk on the opportunities in Indian Coast Guard and recruitment process. Several students and faculties attended the talk. The team met and interacted with all the in-house industries and expressed their views and appreciation in the institution’s effort in putting ideas and skills into real time projects.

ICG is the fourth biggest in the world and has 14 district headquarters and 5 regional headquarters. Mangalore is the third headquarter after Porbandar and Mumbai. ICG carries out operations on air, land and sea during both peace and war times. They maintain the water boundary of 200 nautical miles around the Indian coast. Their functions include Disaster and pollution management, anti-piracy and smuggling prevention, protection of maritime environment and also providing aid to disaster victims.
