Mechanical Engineering Students achieve at National Event, The Indian Karting Championship (IKC), Season-4 held at Mohites Racing Academy, Kolhapur, Maharashtra

Two teams of Sahyadri Motorsports viz. Honey Badger (Go-Kart), led by Mahim Monteiro, 3rd Year Mechanical Engineering; and Black Lightning (E-Kart), led by K Rakeeb Hussain, 3rd Year Mechanical Engineering, mentored by Ashwith Mendonca, Head-Launchpad, took part in the National event held at Mohites Racing Academy, Kolhapur, Maharashtra during 6th to 9th March’2020.
Around 200 teams from various colleges across the country participated in this National event.
Team Black Lightning of Sahyadri, led by K Rakeeb Hussain (Captain and Driver) and Neeraj Kumar (Vice captain), both of whom are 3rd Year Mechanical Engineering students, along with 19 team members, secured the first place in the Endurance Race in the Electric category and also emerged as the Champions of Indian Karting Championship Season 4 in the Electric Category.
The Indian Karting Championship (IKC) is an Inter-collegiate Engineering Design competition for Undergraduate and Graduate Engineering students. The objective of the competition is to implement good engineering practices, design projects and their related research work.
