Team ‘Imagineers’ come up with ‘Ignite’ Application which keeps track of Records in Educational Institutions

The Social Innovation Program for first years provides emphasis on getting to know the Community. Before delving into the complexities of problem solving, students are encouraged to identify root causes of Community Problems, in the process building key skills of observation, questioning, experimenting as well as networking.
Team ‘Imagineers’ with members Prathiksha Rao, Namitha Muraleedharan, Gaurav Rai, Shaheed Ahmed and Shashank Krishna of Section ‘A’ observed shortcomings faced by the management at Educational Institutions, during the Social Innovation Program.
Team Imagineers’ interactions with various stakeholders and experts in the field brought their attention to 3 major problems in the sector; Unavailability of previous records of Academic as well as other performances of the Students, especially those of whose families keep migrating affecting their progress; lack of a system to keep track of attendance as well as maintenance of these records and Insights on student behaviour. Being on-field provided the Team a holistic view of the system in place and helped model their idea. The Team came up with ‘Ignite’, an application that combines all the features necessary for the Management as well as the Faculty to keep track of individual students, ensuring the access of this database through IDs.
Further, they are looking to integrate Statistical models to aid students in the areas that require improvement and convert them into insightful reports that can be utilised by the faculty.
‘Ignite’ is in its planning stage and the Team ‘Imagineers’ hopes to integrate this Application with various other Govt. Organisations and Institutions to better serve students as well as the faculties.
