Faculty Members of the Dept. of Basic Science attend Webinar on National Educational Policy (NEP) – 2020

Faculty members of the Dept. of Basic Science attend a Webinar on NEP-2020 organized by the VTU e-learning Centre, Mysuru. The Webinar was inaugurated by Shri. Vajubhai R. Vala, Honourable Governor of Karnataka.
In his inaugural address Shri Vajubhai spoke about the need of a new education policy which aims at making India a Global Knowledge Super Power. One can become very knowledgeable only with a proper education policy in place. The knowledge can thus be converted to good work.
In his speech, Sri Sri Ravishankar Guruji, Founder of Art of Living, Bengaluru, said NEP 2020 ensures to make our youth well equipped to take India forward. He also answered many questions posed by the participants.
Dr. C.N. Aswath Narayan, Honorable Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Higher Education spoke about the initiatives taken by the Govt. of Karnataka in line with NEP-2020. Prof. Anil Sahasrabudhe, Chairman, AICTE, New Delhi spoke about the importance of holistic development of the youth in the present era.
Prof. M. K. Sridhar, Member, UGC, NEP Draft Committee, New Delhi, spoke about the key points considered during the drafting of new NEP-2020 so that it caters to the holistic development of the student. He also stressed on the importance of mentor-mentee system.
Finally, Prof. Karisiddappa, Honorable Vice Chancellor, VTU, Belgaum addressed the audience and spoke about the vision and mission of NEP-2020. He said that a strong fundamental educational foundation will eventually lead to a strong nation.
