A Meeting held on Various Achievable Goals for CoE in AI and ML

Dr. Pushpalatha, Head-Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering called for a Meeting on 25 Nov’2020, to discuss the various aspects of Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) to achieve the objectives.
Following conclusions were made during the Meeting:
• Weekly meetings to share knowledge among the faculty from different streams;
• Installing an Idea Board in the CoE to share knowledge;
• Identification of problem statements related to Agriculture, Horticulture, Fisheries and Smart City related problems like Traffic Management, Power/Energy Management etc.;
• Support students for the projects with identified problems, which could lead to publications, patents, and products;
• Identification of domain based experts/interested faculty and forming interdisciplinary teams for each sector and splitting the work on the basis of domain expertise;
• Designing a web portal for CoE -AL & Ml and hosting the problems;
• Supporting to write project proposals for different funding agencies; and
• Defining rules for collaboration with other institutes, professors, industries.
Apart from Dr. Pushpalatha K., Head-Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering, Dr. Rajesh S., Principal and Dr. Nalini Elizabeth Rebello, Dean-Academics were present.
Faculty members namely Dr. Ravichandra K.R., & Dr. Rathishchandra R. Gatti, Dept. of Mechanical Engineering; Prof. Duddela Sai Prashanth, Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering and others shared their views in the Meeting.
