Chairman holds Interactive Sessions with Parents of New Entrants to the Engineering Stream

Mr. Manjunath Bhandary, Chairman held Interactive Sessions with 3rd and 4th Batch of parents of the new entrants to the engineering stream in the campus.
To begin with, Mr. Manjunath Bhandary extended a warm welcome to the parents. He highlighted the statistics discussed in the Parliament about employability skills and how multinational companies place importance on Analytical and Technical skills while recruiting Engineers. He stressed on the following points:
1. Acceptance which he expected from the Parents towards their wards.
2. Engineering Course is skill oriented - Students get recruited much before they complete their course.
3. Initiatives like Academic Enrichment, Social Innovation Programs, Internship, Exposure to Industry & latest technology.
4. Participation in NIT & IIT events, Product based learning, Mentor-Mentee System and Outbound programs.
He spoke about In-house companies and Startups set up by Industry experts in the campus. He went on to say that as per present scenario, almost 80% of engineers are unemployable due to gap in the curriculum and industry requirement.
Further, Mr. Bhandary discussed about the Institute’s approach in shaping an individual as an Entrepreneur by sharing the instances of students now holding eminent positions.
Dr. Rajesha S., Principal in his address called upon the parents to be in touch with the institute and involve themselves in the learning activities of their ward.
Lastly, Mr. Johnson, CEO-Technical Career Education shared few insights about how Industry is getting adapted faster with the current technology, thereby giving industry exposure to students.
