PGCET Training Programme Inaugurated

 Mr. Manoj Rajan, Additional Secretary to Government (Market Reforms), Government of Karnataka and the Chairman of the Agricultural Market Reforms Committee was the Chief Guest of the inauguration ceremony of the PGCET Training Programme. Mr. Manoj Rajan’s recommendations to bring reforms in the agri-marketing sector is being implemented in the state of Karnataka. He has played a key role in bringing out the Karnataka Agricultural Marketing policy 2013, a first-of-its-kind in the country. As Managing Director and CEO of Rashtriya e Market services Pvt. Limited, Mr. Manoj successfully established “online markets” across 105 APMCs in Karnataka, and as a result became the only state where 105 regulated markets are under the common electronic platform allowing for greater transparency in the price discovery process. He established Rashtriya e Market Services Private Limited (ReMs), a unique public-private partnership model in the agricultural marketing sector. He has also been a Special Officer (Elections), in the Election Commission of India. 


In his inaugural address, he reiterated that life has given us 86,400 seconds in a day and our thought process should be inclined towards how effectively we spend our time. Life is a trade and if we budget our time accordingly, the sky is the limit. He emphasised on the importance of life and time and urged every individual to change the life of others as well. He stimulated participants to do a SWOT Analysis of self since each one is unique which can guide us to set goals for the next 2 – 5 years. He appreciated participants who occupied the front rows and acknowledged that one who dares to sit in front has substance. He encouraged students to work on their career chart, value time and also prepare a calendar for self. He urged every individual to incline the thoughts towards what you want to give, rather than what you want to take. He appreciated participants for their interest in MBA as this course helps in applying the skills into practice. He mentioned that the participants should make the optimum utilization of the learning’s they receive in these two days which will make their life. 

There were a total of 150 MBA aspirants who attended the training. Sessions on Quantitative Analysis, Logical Reasoning, Proficiency in English Language and General Knowledge were conducted in two parallel sessions. 

Day2 of PGCET Training Programme for MBA Aspirants


Approx 150  MBA aspirants from various UG colleges participated in the two-day PGCET training program organized by the Department of Business Administration. Participants had hands-on training on subjects like Quantitative Analysis, General Knowledge, Logical Reasoning and Proficiency in English Language which are part of the PGCET syllabus. The participants were immensely delighted with the infrastructure at Sahyadri and the hospitality rendered to them.

A session on Quantitative Analysis was facilitated by Mr. Vivekananda Kamath, Centre Head, Co-ordinator, Career Guidance, H.R. Manager at T.I.M.E. (Triumphant Institute of Management Education Pvt. Ltd.), Udupi. He is also a master trainer in Pradhan Mantri Koushal Vikas Yojana. Another session on Proficiency in English Language was facilitated by Ms. Shirley A Furtado, a Freelance Soft Skills Trainer. Faculty members Mr. Raghavendra Prabhu and Mr. Mithun Ullal facilitated the sessions on General Knowledge and Logical Reasoning, respectively. The training programme concluded with a mock test and the top three scorers were rewarded.
