TECSOK Inspection of KCTU project completed

Mr. Nataraj, Deputy Chief Advisor of TECSOK, Govt. of Karnataka, visited Sahyadri on 25th Jan, 2021 to conduct final inspection of the installed TIG and MIG Robotic Welding machinery. Principal, Dr. Rajesha S; Dean-Industry Connect and Head of Mechanical Engineering Dept. Dr. Ravichandra K R, Principal Investigator of KCTU project, Dr. Rathishchandra R. Gatti and Co-Principal Investigator and Lab incharge of KCTU project, Mr. Abhishek greeted him and demonstrated the project.
Mr. Nataraj also visited the Centers of Excellence, Sahyadri startups and in-house companies in the campus. He had words of praise for the learning and entrepreneurial environment present in the campus and encouraged the Sahyadri Management to apply for more Grants and conduct entrepreneurial programmes for the benefit of the community at large.
The inspected KCTU project titled "Development of Automated Welding techniques in TIG and MIG for industries" is aimed at enabling the neighbouring MSMEs and Startups to build expertise in modern robotic welding operations intended for precision components. The Centre is also proposing to rent the equipment to the small industries nearby at a nominal rate and also offer training to their personnel in lieu of supporting the ATMA NIRBHAR motto of Government of India. The Centre also intends to provide training for students, unemployed youth and fresh graduates to make them industry ready for current smart manufacturing trends.
