AICTE-ISTE National Refresher Programme organized by Dept. of Mechanical Engineering’

Day Five (30th March’2021):
The first session of the day was engaged by Prof. Ramani Venkat. He is a Serial Entrepreneur, Mentor to 7 Startups, 26 years of Experience in IT sales, and Associated with around 150 Odd Colleges, Sales Strategist Consultant & NLP Coach. He facilitated the session on “Gamification of collaborative learning”. During his presentation, he explained the role of gamification, play strategies and how it makes students to think and act. He also brought out the concept of Strategy & Luck by conducting a number of simple games.
Second session was engaged by Dr. Kalpana Ranganath Kharade, a former elementary school teacher with teaching experience in urban BMC and private schools. Dr. Kalpana Kharade has scaled great heights professionally due to sheer determination and persistence. Her 100% vision impairment has never come in her way to achieve her well-deserved place in the academic community. She is presently an Adjunct Associate Professor, a recognized PhD guide and visiting faculty at HBCSE. He spoke on “Facilitating learning, through PBL approach”.
During her presentation, she mentioned the importance of Problem Based Learning, Learning Approach, Critical Thinking, Problem Solving Skills, and stressed on how to make students work on real-world problems.
Third session was engaged by Dr. Rajesha S. He is currently the Principal at Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management. He holds PhD in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IITR). He facilitated the session on “Experimental Design in Laboratory Applications”. In his presentation he stressed on the Importance of Laboratory Experiments, Basic Principles of Learning, important factors to inculcate during laboratory to understand the concept and Need of Design Experiments.
Fourth session was engaged by Dr. Vikas Phalle. He is an Associate Professor in Mechanical Engineering Department and Former Head of Mechanical Engineering Department, at V.J.T.I. Mumbai. He is also a QIP Coordinator and AICTE sponsored ‘Margdarshan’ Scheme coordinator. He holds a M.E. in Mechanical Engineering from V.J.T.I., Mumbai, University of Mumbai and a Ph.D. from IIT Roorkee. He has an academic experience of 26 years. He spoke on “Project Based Learning”. In his presentation, he highlighted on Project Based Learning, Domain of learning, why to have a Project Based Learning, and the Teacher’s Role.
