Phase III: AICTE Sponsored One-Week STTP on “Innovative Approaches in Teaching Pedagogy”

The Inaugural Ceremony of the Phase III of AICTE Sponsored One-Week Short Term Training Programme (STTP) on “Innovative Approaches in Teaching Pedagogy” for faculty of AICTE affiliated institutes was held on 24th June 2021. Mr. Viplav Baxi, Author-WhatifEDU and Former Vice-President (Products) of Aakash Educational Services Ltd, New Delhi, was the Chief Guest alongside Dr. S Manjappa, Director-Research; Dr. Rajesha S, Principal; Dr. Vishal Samartha, Director-MBA Programme (Chairperson) and Prof. Sushma V (Convener).
Dr. Rajesha S, welcomed the gathering and introduced Sahyadri to the Guest and participants through a short video. Dr. Vishal Samartha shared the glimpse of One-Week programme by mentioning of the 22 sessions focussing on Hands-On experience for the participants.
Mr. Viplav Baxi, in his Opening Remarks, emphasized on the pedagogical shift of teaching and outcome-based competency incorporated by various educators and he mentioned that keeping this shift in mind, current STTP also serves the best interest of the educators. He inspired the faculty participants by mentioning that this STTP would be an answer to the questions which he has framed in his book WhatifEDU penned by him in 2018. He also mentioned that he was amazed with the topics chosen for the STTP and appreciated the organizers for choosing these topics which was relevant for the current era. He emphasised on 70-20-10 framework where faculty learn 10% through formal instruction, 20% through coaching and 70% through informal learning.
Dr. S Manjappa in his Presidential address began his session by introducing three eminent inaugurators of all the three Phase of online STTP. He congratulated the organizers for choosing one of the best inaugurators, resource persons for the Online STTP and the initiative to educate nearly 500 faculty members to shift towards innovative teaching approach.
