Phase III: AICTE Sponsored One-Week STTP on “Innovative Approaches in Teaching Pedagogy”

Day Two (25th June 2021):

Dr. Bijuna C Mohan, Assistant Professor, School of Management, NITK, Suratkal on the topic - “Activity Based Teaching”

She has over 6 years of experience in the industry and over 17 years of teaching experience. She has received the ABP News National B-School Award for Best Professor in Teaching Advertising Management.
Dr. Bijuna C Mohan gave a demo on how Breakout Rooms can be used in ZOOM and Microsoft Teams. She highlighted the benefits of outcome-based learning and also spoke about Think-Pair-Share, Roleplay, Presentation, Debate, Quick Write, Clicker Questions, and Jigsaw which can be used as effective tools to engage students.

Ms. Pavani K, Associate Head-Training in Tech Mahindra Pvt Ltd on the topic – “Audio-Visual Based Teaching”

She has 10 plus years of experience in ITES, India. She has handled accounts beginning from Transition to planning training, nesting and floor management.
Ms. Pavani spoke about Audio & Video methods and different kinds of Facilitators - Action players, Brainstormers, Reviewers, and Toolers. Audio Visual users are 30% Constructivists, 65% Connectivists and 5% Objectivists.

Mr.Mohit Shetty, HR Business Partner at Infoblox India and visiting faculty at Christ University Bengaluru on the topic –“Real Time Case Study Analysis”

Being at the forefront of the changing landscape of Human Resources for rapidly evolving and growing companies in Bengaluru, Mr. Mohith Shetty has varied experiences along with teaching.
With an informative presentation, he said that we could explore innovative ideas like podcasts, video documentaries and commentaries, news editorials and blogs to keep the students involved and absorbed in the subject matter of study.

Dr. Srinath M S, Professor and Head, Dept. of Industrial & Production Engineering, Malnad College of Engineering, Hassan on the topic - “Blended Learning”

Dr. Srinath M S touched upon Open Educational Resources which are types of educational materials in public domain or have been introduced with an open licence. Along with this he also highlighted the importance of Learning Management System and stressed on the need to adopt SWAYAM, NPTEL, MOOKOT, PROJECT PALS, HEAD RUSH along with our conventional style of teaching and learning.
Dr. Srinath has done his M.Tech in Advance Manufacturing at NITK, Surathkal and has got his PhD in Manufacturing from IIT Roorkee. He is the recipient of Young Scientist for Research (under SMYSR) for the year 2012-2013 from Vision Group on Science & Technology, Department of IT, BT and Science & Technology, Government of Karnataka.
