Day Three: 26th June 2021, Saturday

Dr. Umesh M Bhushi, Academic Program Chair, Industrial Engineering Technology, Higher Colleges of Technology, Abu Dhabi Women’s College, Abu Dhabi on the topic - “Building Human Values”

Dr. Bhushi is an alumnus of Indian Institute of Technology. He has vast experience of 33 years teaching and augmented with 12 years as Principal of various engineering colleges. He is also the Director, Strategic Planning at Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management, Mangaluru.
Dr. Bhushi emphasized on converting information into knowledge and knowledge to wisdom. He shared real time examples to share his idea of building human values not only among student community but also be Role models for strong value system. Dr. Bhushi said progress is guaranteed only when growth is embedded with ethics, discipline and honesty.

Dr. Sampath Kumar, Associate Dean (RDIC), Dr. AKTU, Lucknow on the topic - “Competency Based Learning”

He is a B.E, M.Tech and Ph.D from UPTU in association with IIT Delhi. He has 4 patents in the field of Memory Design. Dr. Sampath Kumar shared the information with a humble recognition that, learning becomes more effective by using Digital Pedagogy. Each student has their own skills and as faculty, we need to identify those unseen skills of the students. Competency-Based Learning can be an effective model, potentially reducing inefficiency and increasing pedagogical precision and student achievement.

Dr. Sanjay K Deshpande, Professor, KLS IMER, Belagavi on the topic - “Lessons through Great Epics of India

Dr. Sanjay shared information on Management concepts from the Ancient Hindu Epics – the Mahabharata and the Ramayana. He narrated stories that depicted Professional Ethics and its importance.

Dr. Radha Raman Mishra, Dept. of Mechanical Engineering, BITS-Pilani on the topic - “Design Thinking"

Dr. Mishra has served as a Project Officer, the Design Innovation Center, IIT Roorkee. The session involved activities on Designs with the help of various innovative tools available online. Dr. Mishra gave LIVE examples from his experiences in solving practical problems with the help of Mind maps and Design thinking. The session closed with an activity on Design thinking where participants were put into Breakout Rooms and Design a Product for a problem.
