Two-Day Workshop on Classroom to Boardroom for M.Tech Civil Engine fering

Two-Day-Workshop-on-“Classroom-to-Boardroom-for-M.Tech-Civil-Engineering Day One of the workshop started with the Inaugural Ceremony and Dr. Vishal Samartha, Director, Department of Business Administration was the chief guest. In her inaugural address, she stressed on how one should make the best use of the opportunities and resources available to emerge successful in all the endeavors. She also highlighted the importance of inculcating optimistic attitude throughout one’s career in order to pave a path leading to success. She also congratulated the Civil Engineering Department for organizing the workshop so as to enhance the entrepreneurial skills of postgraduate students. Mr. Pramod Mishra, Chief Safety Officer, MRPL was the Guest of Honour & Dr. Umesh M Bhushi, Principal presided over the function. Prof. Umesh S S, HoD (PG), Department of Civil Engineering briefed about the workshop highlights to the gathering.


This was followed by a session on 'Safety in Construction' by Mr. Pramod Mishra, Chief Safety Officer, MRPL. In this session the students were briefed about the importance of safety norms that has to be strictly followed in a construction process. He also stressed on the importance of safety management in the efficient execution of a construction project.

The second session was on 'Entrepreneurial Skills' which was delivered by Dr. Umesh M Bhushi, Principal. In this session, gists of entrepreneurial aspects were highlighted. Students were also briefed on how one should trigger their entrepreneurial traits and emerge successful.

The third session was on 'Financial Support Schemes' which was delivered by Mr. Reese Mathews, Chief Manager and Mr. Ravi Kumar, Manager, Canara Bank, Mangaluru. This session dealt with the various financial support schemes rendered by the financial institutions to the entrepreneurs aiding their startups.

The fourth session was on 'Opportunities for Consultancy Services' by Dr. Premanand Shenoy, Department of Civil Engineering.
