Dr. Prabhu addresses the CIO's of India

Dr. Ananth Prabhu G, Professor in Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering and Principal Investigator of the Digital Forensics and Cyber Security CoE at Sahyadri was invited by the CIO Klub to address the CIO's on "New Gen Cyber Crimes and the Precautions to be taken". Dr. Prabhu spoke about the Gen V attacks, also known as a 5th generation cyber-attacks, which is a large scale, multi-vector attack vetor that is designed to infect multiple components of an information technology infrastructure, including networks, virtual machines, cloud instances and endpoint devices. He also explained the mechanism of Pegasus and Paragon spyware attacks and invited the CIOs to visit the CoE at Sahyadri.
He threw light on Precautionary measures such as microsegmentation, intelligent application delivery controls, next-generation firewalls (NGFWs) with advanced functions including application awareness and the ability to use external threat intelligence feeds that provide security engineers with a live data stream related to potential or current threats.
