Exemplary session with an exemplary teacher whose responses to students' queries are "Life-Engineering" precisely for the reason that he emphasized on "touching" the life with impact. What is the scope of Bio-Mechanics? What are its applications in common man's life? To that query, Prof. S N Omkar, Chief Research Scientist, Dept. of Aerospace Engineering, Indian Institute of Science (IISC), Bengaluru eloquently narrated episodes to drive home innovative ways of extending helping hands to prevent fall, to facilitate ease robotically.
Whether to go for higher studies or to continue the routine of projects, mechanically? Ph.D’s do not mean anything if one can choose to explore in a chosen area! Professor did not decry further studies, yet pointed out that what really matters is the spirit of the pursuit!
Gyrating Yakshagana Performer was referred to as a telling example for control of balance by Dr. S Ramakrishna Sharma, Adjunct Professor, who recently joined Sahyadri fraternity of Faculty.
Prof. Omkar also added instances of his experience in Yoga which help liberating us from the thraldom of enslaving technology, though be resorted to when absolutely needed.
