“FEEL - Employable” learning and development intervention programme

The three-day training session “FEEL - Employable” learning and development intervention programme for the first year students was inaugurated by the Principal, Dr. U. M. Bhushi. He addressed the students emphasizing the need for holistic learning. He encouraged the students to actively participate in the sessions to follow and enjoy the learning process.

Dr. Umashankar, Dean Academics, highlighted that India is going to cross the population of China, and has every opportunity of being the world’s largest human resource centre. The resource person Prof. Sunney Tharappan, Director, CLHRD stated that the quality of a programme depends on the person who goes through the training. He also added that learning happens only when we have reflections on it. It is not enough to be good; we should be capable of showing it. Learning has no value unless it has an impact on our everyday living.

The FEEL Employable programme helps students redefine themselves through reinforcement of various areas of one’s own human resource. The strategies employed, the methodology adopted, the techniques used, and the action plan implemented is necessarily meant to promote the students to think in positive lines and feel comfortable with his or her achievements. Seven hundred students of batches of the first year Engineering course participated in the programme spread over three sessions.
