Seventh Graduation Day Celebrated in the Campus

The Seventh Graduation Day for the graduating students of Bachelor of Engineering of 2016-17 was held in the Campus. 630 students took an oath and received their graduation certificates from the Guests, Mr. Nagaraj Ijari, Vice President, TCS Bangalore and Mr. E S Chakravarthy, Center Head, TCS Bangalore. Around 400 parents and relatives of the students were present to witness their children graduate on this special occasion. Mr. Nagaraj Ijari is the Global Head for TCS-HiTech Business Unit. He has about 30 years of rich experience in the IT industry. He joined TCS in January 1990 and has contributed immensely to the growth of the organization. He has performed a variety of roles in TCS including strategic Account Management, Sales and Delivery for customers globally. Mr. Chakravarthy joined TCS in the year 1997 as a trainee engineer as part of the campus placements at PSG College of Technology. In his current role, he is primarily responsible for Overall Regions’ growth; Operating cost management and Customer Relations, Infrastructure Management, End-to-End Operations of the region, People Connect, Employee Welfare and Engagement, Public Relations. Mr. Manjunath Bhandary, Chairman, Bhandary Foundation in his introductory remarks, stated that it a proud moment for Sahyadri to witness the students being graduated on the very occasion of Graduation Day. He placed the placement statistics before the gathered audience and said that it is most essential to have a job offer in hand when a student walks out of the campus on completion of their graduation. He advised the students to work with commitment and dedication in their chosen companies and be brand ambassadors of Sahyadri. He was extremely happy to share few of the positive feedbacks shared by the companies on the students of the institute. He concluded saying that Academic graduation is not ultimate, but instead the actual learning process in life begins from here, also he said that opportunities are vast, students have to grab them and make the best use of it. He advised the students to keep their mind filled with positive attitude, love, happiness and warm memories of Sahyadri. Lastly he thanked the entire teaching fraternity of Sahyadri in contributing towards the success of the day. Further, the Graduation Day was declared open was followed by the distribution of certificates to the graduating students and oath taking. Mr. Nagaraj Ijari in his address to the graduating students stated that it is one of the most memorable days to be cherished as the biggest milestone in life is achieved. Every day is a day to learn and learning is a continuous process that helps one keep updated. He said, find ways to make things possible in life, Dream big, think big and live your dream; passion gives energy which in turn helps to sort out most of the problems in life. Failure helps one learn even better he said, and lastly he advised all the graduates to contribute to the society in whatever way possible for its betterment. Mr. Chakravarthy, Congratulated all the graduates and their proud parents on the occasion. In his address to the graduates he said that energy is the source of success for every individual. He insisted to keep the smile steady on the faces, as smile is an indication of progress, confidence and well being. He defined the types of energies that can be gained by our interaction with the different types of people in the society. He advised the students to develop the problem solving skills and ensure their safety on priority. Dr. Umesh M. Bhushi, Principal, delivered the vote of thanks and congratulated the graduates. He said that the institute was proud of their achievements. He advised the students to grow and continuously learn in life. He also called upon them to give their hundred percent in whatever they do. Prof. Balakrishna S S, Vice Principal delivered the welcome address and introduced the Guests. He extended warm welcome to the dignitaries, the trustees, the parents, the press and media, the faculty, the staff and the students present on the occasion. Two of the graduating students shared their experiences of the time they spent in the Campus and expressed their gratitude to their alma mater. The formal function was followed by a photography session.
