A Two-Week Social Immersion Boot Camp (SIB) for the Higher Semester Students organized by Center for Social Innovation (CSI)

The Center for Social Innovation (CSI) is conducting a Two-Week Social Immersion Boot Camp (SIB) for the Higher Semester Students, starting from 17th Jan’20.

The programme is designed to introduce engineering students of the region to the local enterprises that support regional communities and create local products. The purpose is to find opportunities to develop social innovation projects that could improve the livelihoods of the communities in the region and attempt to support these local enterprises improve their business potential.

On Day One of the camp, students had a session delivered by Prof. Chongtham Odessey Singh, MSW Dept., School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya, Mangaluru. He guided the students on important aspects of Research Methods, how to design Research Projects, difference between Natural or Physical Science research and Social Science research. While concluding, Prof. Singh stressed on the importance of engineering in social work.
