A Press Meet to announce the Accreditation of the five Undergraduate (UG) Engineering Programs of Sahyadri by the National Board of Accreditation – NBA, New Delhi, was held at 11.20 am on 10th March,’2020, at Pathrika Bhavana, Urwa, Mangaluru.

Speaking at the Press Meet, Dr. R Srinivasa Rao Kunte explained the NBA Accreditation process in detail. He said Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management has achieved another Milestone by getting accreditation of the five Under Graduate (UG) Engineering Programs viz. Mechanical, Civil, Computer Science, Information Science, and Electronics & Communication.
An Expert Team from The National Board of Accreditation - NBA, New Delhi visited Sahyadri and conducted the evaluation of all the five Engineering departments. Accordingly the Accreditation was awarded for a period of 3 years (2020-2023), said Dr. Kunte, Principal.
Dr. Rajesha S. gave an in-depth insight of the NBA Evaluation Process and its advantages. He said:
• The degree obtained by the student from the NBA Accredited programs, will be recognized globally.
• Students have higher preference job opportunities in premier companies and pursuing higher studies in reputed international universities.
• Quality education provided by the accredited programs helps the student to hone up their skills and gain knowledge across the streams.
• Enhance the research capability by attracting funding from the various agencies.
Regarding the Outcome Based Education (OBE) processes, Dr. Rajesha said that OBE measures the practice of Teaching Learning Processes and attainment of Program Outcomes for the successful completion of Graduation in Engineering
The NBA Expert Team appreciated Outcome Based Education (OBE) practices, best practices and initiatives adopted for holistic education in Sahyadri, said Dr. Rajesha. He further stated that the College has been accredited by NAAC ‘A’ Grade in 2017 and the current achievement will further strengthen the commitment towards delivering quality technical education.
Dr. Ravichandra K.R. in his turn spoke about the Industry-Connect Program at Sahyadri and how it helps make the students industry-ready by offering internships and training in latest skills.
Dr. Shamanth Rai explained how the Aptitude & Learning Lab helps students get placements in premiere companies.
While concluding the Meet, Prof. S.S. Balakrishna explained the Mentor-Mentee System at Sahyadri including the facilities in the Mech-Tech Lab.
