Prof. Duddela Sai Prashanth, Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering, conducted a session on "Using Citavi tool for Organizing Literature" on 11th Apr’2020 for the faculty members of his Department.
Citavi is an open-source tool created by 'Swiss Academic Software' company that enables researchers to organize literature w.r.t. papers and thesis. Prashanth demonstrated various features of the tool such as creating categories, uploading papers, associating categories to papers, adding quotations, figures, and references for the papers. He also demonstrated the integration of citavi tool to Word document as a plugin, and automation of several sections of the paper viz., introduction, literature survey, methodology, results, and conclusion based on pre-entered Citavi data.
Key takeaways:
• The use of Citavi tool reduces up to 90% of the researcher's effort in organizing literature.
• Automates the process of reference generation.
• Direct integration with Word document and Latex.
In addition to the faculty members of Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering, Ms. Bryal, faculty of Public Health, Manipal Academy of Higher Education and Ms. Sapna, Research Scholar, VTU, also attended the session.
