Dr. Bharathi, Librarian, participated in the Online FDP Program on “Skills for Librarianship” through National Webinar Lecture Series conducted by LIS Academy and NCSI-Net Foundation Bengaluru, during 16th May to 21st June’2020.
Highlights of the program:
• LIS Job Market: Trends in Library profession: challenges and opportunities
• Digital Content Creation
• E- resources: Library as a new online learning platform
• Web Information sources
• Digital Archiving –Cloud computing and Institutional Repository using DSpace
• Library Automation – working with Koha
• Web Designing –Designing Developing and commissioning a website and building web portal using open sources
• Social media tools for Library and information services
• Communication Skills –working with Microsoft tools: Power Point, Excel
• Personality Development etc.
Overall, the Program was very informative and enhanced the participants’ knowledge and skills.
The NCSI-Net Foundation is a trust established by the trainees and staff of the National Center for Science Information (NCSI) Indian Institute of Science (IISc). Library & Information Science (LIS), on the other hand is the academic and professional study of how information and information carriers are produced, evaluated and managed.
