Day-Five of Five Days Online FDP - “Research Challenges and Trends in Information Technology”

Session-1 was facilitated by Dr. S. N. Bharath Bhushan. He obtained his B.E. in Kuvempu University Shivamogga, M.Sc. in Computer Science and Technology from the University of Mysore and Ph.D. in Computer Science in VTU Belgaum. His areas of interests are NLP, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Data Science.
The Agenda was focused on “Natural Language Processing (NLP) challenges and Trends”.
Highlights of the Session:
• Introduction to Natural Language Processing(NLP), Sentimental analysis, Document Summarization, Indexing
• Text Classification: Rule based, Machine Learning, Deep Learning
• Challenges in Text Processing- Unstructured, Volume, Dimensionality, Sparsity, Complex Semantics
• Text Classification System, Case study of Text classification using Machine Learning
Session-2 was Dr. Ravichandra K.R., Dean - Industry Connect and Head of the Dept. of Mechanical Engineering at Sahyadri. He is having 14 years of teaching and 4 years of industrial experience. His fields of interest are Lithium Ion battery for heavy applications, Renewable Energy Sources, Sustainable Engineering and Computational Fluid Dynamics.
The Agenda was focused on “Opportunities for Interdisciplinary Research”.

• Energy Source & Consumption, Global oil demand for Transportation
• Major Crisis of Today’s Scenario, Industry Revolutions, Solutions for Today’s Crisis
• Renewal Energy Sources, Electrification of Vehicles & Transport Sector
• Evolution of Engineering Materials, Interdisciplinary Opportunities
Prof. Duddela Sai Prashanth, Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering, expressed his gratitude to the resource persons and the participants for their active participation. Oral feedback was taken by the participants at the end of the FDP.
Students, Faculties, Research Scholars, and Industry Persons from country like Nigeria, and various states across India participated in the session.
