Dr. Ananth Prabhu, quoted his Guru Mr. Sanjay Sahay ‘Hacking is the new normal’. Of course it is, Dr. Ananth warned, but it depends on how we use this double edged sword - the Internet. It can be an excellent slave or a terrible Master.
Coming to the topic of CyberCrimes against Women Dr. Ananth emphasized on the Digital Wellbeing of a woman and explicitly abbreviated the word ‘NAARI’ as follows:
N - Never share your password, ATM Pin or any other confidential information with anyone especially your digital devices!
A- Avoid meeting acquaintances from social media!
There are instances where women have used the dating sites and have been taken for granted time and again!
A- Avoid posting too much information on social media and also high resolution photographs which can easily be morphed.
Dr Ananth advised doing an online Open Source Intelligence OSINT search on the Internet and find out how much of private information is public!
R- Regularly update your antivirus, apps, software and operating system.
Why? To plug the loopholes; these loopholes can be an open invite to all the hackers!
I- Informed! Stay well informed about the various crimes, security policies and laws.
Dr. Ananth spoke about the Cyber Safe Girl project that has been launched. Currently the Version 3 has got 30 different crimes on women, prevention and safety tips, he said.

While concluding Dr. Ananth gave some live examples on how some vulnerable girls have become a prey to the cybercrimes and made a Clarion Call to Browse Responsibly.
