MBA Dept.  Organizes ‘Audit Training’ for MBA - Finance students

With a view to enhance placement opportunities for MBA - Finance students in the field of auditing, Dept. of Business Administration organized a session on ‘Auditing ‘on 02nd January, 2021, facilitated by Ms. Divya Sudhakar, Manager at KPMG – GDC, Bengaluru and Mr. Achutha Shenoy, Senior Associate at KPMG-GDC, Bengaluru who is also an alumni of Sahyadri.
Ms. Divya Sudhakar spoke on the various areas of audit such as Audit regulatory bodies in USA, audit risks, audit opinions and audit procedures. Mr. Achutha Shenoy shared his experience at Sahyadri, as a student and how the trainings here helped him to get through KPMG. The students were motivated to take campus drives seriously and work on aptitude and other skillsets that enhance their opportunities to be placed.
About the resource person:
Ms. Divya Sudhakar is a second year Manager at KPMG’s Global Delivery Center (GDC). She has more than 7 years of experience at KPMG-GDC.
Prior to joining GDC, Divya worked as an Audit Assistant at Umanatha Rao & Co., Chartered Accountants for three and half years. Divya has performed audit services for public and private clients in the oil & gas, technology, financial services and food & drink industries. Divya has provided audit services across several areas of audit including cash, accounts receivable, accounts payable, revenues and several others. Ms. Divya has ACA (Associate Chartered Accountant) degree from Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, LCS (Licentiate Company Secretary) from Institute of Company Secretaries of India, MBA from Sikkim Manipal University.
Mr. Achutha Shenoy is a senior associate at KPMG-GDC and has been working with the firm for 4 and half years. He handles a team of 10 professionals and primarily handles the industrial manufacturing clients which comprises of Oil & Gas and Energy Natural Resources (ENR) clients. He is a champion in various audit areas like financial statements and various process area testworks. He is an active member of various people management and innovation activities at GDC, with one of his recent ideas being forwarded for further R&D. He was recognised with the prestigious Super Employee of the quarter award for the busiest quarters in the business for his outstanding contributions, quality of work and skillset offered to the clients as well as the firm.
