AICTE-ISTE National Refresher Programme Phase-2 organized by Dept. of Mechanical Engineering

Day Three (8th Apr’2021):
The first session was engaged by Dr. Pooja Birwatkar. She holds a Ph.D degree in Education and is currently working as an Assistant Professor in K J Somaiya College of Education, Somaiya Vidyavihar University Mumbai. The main focus of her talk was on Dialogues, Argumentations and Design thinking in Collaborative Learning Spaces. During her presentation, she highlighted on how to use argumentation as pedagogy, the power of strategic pauses class lectures, project-based learning, experiential learning, problem-based learning and Inquiry learning.
Second session was engaged by Dr. Ravichandra K R. He is currently working as Professor and Head-Dept. of Mechanical Engineering at Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management. He is also holding an additional responsibility of being the Dean-Industry Connect at the institute and is heading the autonomous working committee. In his interactive session he spoke on Interdisciplinary cooperation between hard skills and soft skills. His talk focused on 21st century skills, AICTE model curriculum and assessment of soft skills.
Third session was engaged by Dr. Rathishchandra R. Gatti, Professor, Head of Projects and Funding, Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management, Mangaluru. The topic of the resource person was Collaborative tools for student-faculty research teams. In his presentation, he highlighted the student faculty collaborative research culture, research standards, and usage of collaborative tools with the hands on demonstration of Zotero – A cloud based application for seamless collaboration of across various platforms and groups for research.
Fourth session was engaged by Prof H.S. Ganesha Bhatta. He is a former Principal of MES Teachers College Bengaluru. He holds a Doctoral degree from University of Mysore. In his presentation he stressed on Collaborative TLP practices. His talk also focussed on components of cooperative learning.
