AICTE Sponsored One-Week STTP on “Innovative Approaches in Teaching Pedagogy”

Day Five (4th June 2021):
Mr. Mohan Kumar, Practice Head, Wipro Ltd on the topic “Management Lessons through Cricket”
Mr. Mohan Kumar has 32 years of IT experience. He holds Electrical Engineering degree and MBA in HR. He is a certified cricket umpire, volunteer for global sports events like Olympics & Common wealth games and organizes major sports events.
Mr. Mohan Kumar said that a young chap getting ready for Cricket as a career choice would be imbibed with management skills from childhood through rigorous training sessions, fitness regime, time management and self-transformation periods during their life. He advised the participants to take many live examples from cricket and to blend them with classroom sessions as most of the students would be very much interested in the topic.
Dr. Radha Raman Mishra, Dept. of Mechanical Engineering, BITS-Pilani on the topic - “Mind Mapping Visualization Tools”
Dr. Mishra has served as a Project Officer, the Design Innovation Center, IIT Roorkee. The session involved activities on communicating ideas through sketching and how a Faculty can deliver a session effectively through mind mapping. The session ended by exploring an alternative approach that works with both halves of the brain by harnessing its powers of visualization and association and thereby improves both memory and creative thinking.
Dr. Padmavathi B S, Director-Centre for Educational and Social Studies, Bengaluru on the topic “National Education Policy”
Dr. Padmavathi B S is a Post-graduate in Political Science and also holds M.Phil and Doctoral degrees with specialization in Foreign Policies. She holds a certificate on ‘Introduction to Corporate Social Responsibility’ awarded by United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR, Geneva).
Dr. Padmavathi B S, emphasizing on the importance of National Education Policy said that a Teacher must be at the centre of the fundamental reforms in the Education System. She highlighted that the Pedagogy must evolve to make education more experiential, holistic, integrated, inquiry-driven, discovery-oriented, learner-centered, discussion-based, flexible, and of course, enjoyable.
Mr. Mohit Shetty, HR Business Partner – Infobox and Guest Faculty at Christ University, Bengaluru on the topic - “Real-Time Case Study Analysis”
Mr. Mohit Shetty has handled end to end employee lifecycle for rapidly growing organizations. He specializes in the set up and growth of rapidly evolving companies in the city of Bengaluru.
He kickstarted his presentation with giving an overview of classic case study structure like - Introduction, aims, methodology, results, discussion and recommendation and moved further by giving insights on new innovative methods of using technology blend like podcast, video documentary, video commentary and news editorials approaches alternatively to get students engaged and break that monotonous atmosphere of long traditional case study analysis.
