“Extended Learning Programme in Electrical Engineering” for First year Students

Extended Learning Programme was made as the part of first year academics so that students gain the application level knowledge of the theory subjects what they are studying. The session was on Basic Electrical Engineering organized on 12th July 2021. Dr. SV Jatti was the Resource Person. Dr. SV Jatti is also a Charted Engineer, Institution of Engineers (India), Calcutta. Dr. SV Jatti has 36 Year of experience in Heading Operations and Maintenance in a very large scale organization, Heading circle level project planning and implementation, Training team and Achieving customer delight at National level. Dr. SV Jatti gave detailed information about basic Domestic Wiring System in electric power distribution, Service connections, Code of practice, and the types of Domestic Wiring and Earthing. He also spoke about Electrical Wiring Materials, Electric Meter and Protective devices. He gave brief information about Earthing, Chemical earthing, and Electrical shock. He motivated students to have a vast horizon in gaining information in electrical shock, first aid, electrical safety precautions, and earth leakage sensitivity. He also tried to give a glimpse on Metering, Billing Tariff plans, etc.
The session was organized by the First-year department, coordinated by Dr. Prashanth Rao, Mr. Johnson Tellis, Prof. Praveen Kumar M, Prof. Gagan Shetty K, Prof. Supreeth Prabhu and Prof. Soumyashree as moderator using the Online-platform with the support of first year students.
