Establishment of SAHYADRI-STEP centre

Sahyadri is moving towards the establishment of SAHYADRI - STEP centre with a full time Director. This center finally envisages full fledged Science and Technology Entrepreneurs Park as separate entity helping the Innovators/ Intrapreneurs/ Entrapreneures. The Students/Faculty with innovative ideas will be helped to develop themselves to become entrepreneurs through various stages like mentoring and training in innovation and entrepreneurship through IED Cell, develop their Innovative projects and incubate them as technology business Incubators Cel(lTBI) through funding from various agencies like NSTEDB under DST, MSME and other state agencies and finally setup the entrepreneurship park to produce and market the innovative products.
An interactive session with Dr. Suresh Bhat (Director-NITK-STEP), Mr. Prajwal and Mr. Orwin Noronha( two of the Innovators at NITK-STEP) was arranged recently by SAHYADRI-STEP for the benefit of Final year students and faculty.
Prof. S. Dayanand Shetty, Director SAHYADRI-STEP welcoming and introducing the guests gave brief details about the STEP. Dr. Ravikumar, HOD E&C, Prof. Balakrishna, HOD, Mech., Dr. Nagesh, HOD, CSE/ISE and Dr. Nagaraj, Dean R&D were present.
