Sahyadri Celebrates the 75th Independence Day

The 75th celebration of India’s Independence Day was viewed with joy and pride by the Students, teaching and non-teaching staff of Sahyadri on 15th Aug 2021. Mr. Prashanth Shenoy Katpady, Co-Founder/CTO at UniCourt Inc, Chief Guest, hoisted the National Flag.
The National Anthem was sung by the gathering with gusto, giving it full-fledged attention. Mr. Prashanth Shenoy Katpady, is currently the Co-Founder/CTO at UniCourt Inc. As a Chief of Technology, his role is to design, architect and deploy cloud native applications to meet the Product’s need. He also started Hackerspace Mangaluru, a community which holds workshops and talks on technology for students and professionals with a goal to build a lively tech ecosystem in Mangaluru. He has done B.E in Computer Science from Visvesvaraya Technological University and M.S in Computer Science from University of Southern California.

Mr. Prashanth lauded Sahyadri for its commitment towards excellence. While addressing the gathering, Mr. Prashanth, remembered the people who sacrificed their lives for the sake of independence and re-iterated that we have our responsibility in return, to make India great.
He urged all to ponder on the 3 aspects – What are our responsibilities towards our country? Why are we responsible? How we can make a difference? If everyone did their part, our country would be a much better place to live in. He emphasized on how we can help others achieve their goals while we are working on our own goals. He expressed his goal to solve domestic problems through technology. He encouraged each one to utilize the Indian infrastructure in terms of affordable internet, reasonable smart phones, cloud infrastructure and do something worthwhile thus contributing to the society and to the Nation.
His speech was followed by singing of the National Song – ‘Vande Mataram’ which evoked and eulogized the history and struggles of our great nation.

Mechanical Engineering Student secures 2nd position in Video Competition organized by Unnat Bharat Abhiyan

Unnat_Bharat Ashritha Rai, student from Mechanical Engineering has secured 2nd position in Regional Level Video Competition which was organized by Unnat Bharat Abhiyan. Results were announced on 15th August 2021. In the video she spoke about how to positively impact the people by creating COVID 19 awareness giving them a glimpse of how to adopt a Healthy lifestyle, Yoga, Meditation and Ayurveda practices and also about the importance of physical distancing, home isolation and medication. About the Competition: Unnat Bharat Abhiyan had launched a Competition to create a repository and awareness material in Regional Languages/ dialects for circulation among the village clusters for COVID-19 awareness.
