MBA Students secure 6th Place in Regional Round of SEBI Quiz Contest at NISM Campus, Maharashtra

Two of the MBA students - Victor Lobo and M Abhay Baliga of 2nd year MBA (2020-22 batch), were selected for the Regional and National Round of SEBI Quiz Contest and won Rs. 10,000 cash prize at the Regional Round Quiz held during 23rd to 24th July, 2022 at National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) Campus, Patalganga, Maharashtra. Prof. Suchithra Acharya, Faculty coordinator, Dept. of Business Administration (MBA) accompanied the students for the event as it was fully funded by SEBI for both the students and the Faculty.
Top 11 colleges from each region (Central, East, West, South, North) of the country were selected for the Regional and National round of Quiz, out of which Victor and Abhay ranked the 6th position. Sahyadri MBA was among the 3 colleges selected from Karnataka and the only college from Dakshina Kannada District.
The Nation-wide Financial Markets Quiz is a unique National level test, conducted by Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), under the auspices of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. This Quiz was conducted to promote financial literacy among citizens by actively engaging and educating them about financial markets.

Talk on 'Research, Funding, Consultancy and Educational Administrative Activities' organized by Dept. of CSE

Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering organized a Talk on 'Research Activities & Funding, Consultancy & Educational Administrative Activities on 28th July'2022 for the Faculty facilitated by Dr. Manjappa S, Director-R&D and Consultancy. In his talk, Dr. Manjappa emphasized on the Roles and Responsibilities of faculty in Teaching-Learning Process. He explained the Role of the cadre of Professors in Research and Administration. He discussed the importance of Research work, Innovation, Patent, Publication, Teaching-Learning, Consultancies and Extension services to achieve NIRF Ranking. He also briefed on various Women Scientist Schemes sanctioned by Govt. of India. Dr. Pushpalatha K, Head-Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering and other faculty of the department were present in the session.

Bridge Course: Engineering Batch 2022

Day Six:

Day Six of the Bridge Course started with a fun-filled activity to energize students and let them into a session on 'Communication Strategy' conducted by TCE Trainers - Mr. Hemanth Rao and Mr. Srajan Kulal.
Students had a discussion on various topics related to current affairs and were asked to give a formal presentation on the topic. Students, after the session, expressed that they never had an experience to talk on stage, showcasing their presentation skills. According to the students, activities like these are pushing them out of their comfort zone.
Post lunch, a session on MIT App development was conducted by Mr. Ramkishor, Dream Kits. Students were involved in building various Android applications.
Day Seven:

On Day Seven, students learnt about 'Canva' software which is used for editing photos and 'Filmora' software which is used for video editing. This session was facilitated by the experts of Media Team from Mega Mind - Mr. Rahul and Ms. Ramya. Students felt the need of these softwares and appreciated the lifelong learning they received for handling social media and presentations. The post lunch session was from Team Flotanomers on Drone Building, Drone assembly followed by an overview of the career in Drone Technology.

Workshop on Game Development by Team Challengers

On the 23rd and 25th of July'2022, Team Challengers conducted 'Make It Real with Unreal', a Game Development workshop using the popular game development and 3D modelling software Unreal Engine by Epic Games. Most of the AAA title games are made using this Unreal Engine.
chalengers2 The workshop was open to all the students and it was conducted at the NAIN centre. The session was facilitated by Mr. V Mukesh Kumar, fourth year, Dept. of Electronics & Communication Engineering and Alumni - Mr. Lathesh Shetty, Junior Researcher on AR and VR at NITK Surathkal.
The students are now able to develop a Game with the insights procured from the workshop.
