Volleyball Sahyadri Boys Volleyball Team emerged as Runners-up in VTU Inter-Zone Volleyball Tournament held at SITT, Tumkur during 13th to 14th Dec, 2021.

Student Induction Program for the 2021-22 first year Engineering students

Day Two (14th Dec, 2021)

Students were divided into 3 batches and were introduced to the different branches by the respective Branch heads. Students were then shifted to their classrooms and regular classes were held as per the timetable. In the afternoon, sessions on Universal Human Values were conducted by Dr. Prashantha Rao, Head-Basic Science Dept.; Prof. Suchetha, Dept. of Basic Science and Prof. Vaishak, Dept. of Mechanical Engineering.
Day Three (15th Dec, 2021)
Induction2_1 On this day, the Student Induction program was conducted at three different venues. Sessions were engaged by Dr. Prashantha Rao, Head-Basic Science Dept.; Prof. Vaishak, Dept. of Mechanical Engineering and Prof. Akshaya Shetty Dept. of Kannada on topics related to Universal Human Values. Later, students were shifted to their classrooms and regular classes as per timetable were held.

Grand Finale of Social Innovation Makeathon

The Grand Finale of "Social Innovation Makeathon" commenced on 10th Dec, 2021. A total of 6 teams pitched their prototypes from the sectors - agriculture, healthcare and so on. Anish and Team secured first place in the Makeathon for their prototype on "Electric Vehicle"; Raksha and Team and Ashwija and Team shared the Runners-up position for their prototypes on "Baby Heath Monitoring System" and "Agri Node". Dr. Shreyas Rao, Associate Professor and Research Coordinator and Mr. Gouse Khan M S, DIA NAIN Center evaluated the projects.
All the participating teams shall be receiving prototype building and mentoring support to build fully functioning prototype.

Dept. of Basic Science holds its first Board of Studies (BoS) Meeting

BOS A meeting of the Board of Studies of Basic Science was held on 11th Dec. 2021 at 9:30 AM in blended mode. The meeting started with a welcome note of all the honorary members followed by a discussion on the proposed autonomous scheme and syllabus for Sahyadri. The syllabus for 11 courses including Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English, Elements of Civil engineering, Innovation, and Design Thinking, and Scientific Foundation of health is approved by the Board of Studies with minor changes and useful suggestions to improve the learning skills of the students.
The meeting was presided over by the Chairman of the Board of Studies for Basic Science - Dr. Prashantha Rao. The meeting was graced by the VTU nominee Dr. Arun M Isloor from NITK Surathkal; External subject experts - Dr. Shashirekha B Rai, NMAMIT, Nitte; Dr. V Upadyaya, MIT Manipal, and Internal subject experts - Dr. Jyothi F Serrao, Dr. Savitha M B, Prof. Hemanth Prabhu, and Prof. Soumyashree.
External members have appreciated the efforts of the management and faculty and also expressed their happiness regarding the infrastructure of the Institute.

Wipro Engagement Session

wipro Wipro Hosted an engagement session for all the selected students from the 2022 outgoing batch. Ms. Nahida Kouser, Campus Recruiter presented the role and responsibilities of the selects with the Compensation and benefits. The session was aimed to clarify all the queries put forth by the students. The students clarified their doubts at the end of the session.
