Chairman interacts with the Parents of new entrants to the Engineering program
Chairman, Mr. Manjunath Bhandary welcomed the parents of new entrants to Sahyadri and held an interaction with them on 17th & 18th Dec, 2021. He explained about the current scenario of Technical Education in India, the latest developments, the challenges and the vast opportunities that students have in the field of Engineering. He emphasized on the importance of building Skill-sets in order to attract the best job offers in the employment market. He explained what the college expects from the students as well as their parents and also encouraged the parents to express their expectations from the institution.
Chairman highlighted that there is difference between Basic engineering and Bachelor of engineering which focuses on training related to analytical, aptitude and attitude development of the students along with academics.
Mr. Bhandary spoke about the various programmes and innovative initiatives undertaken by Sahyadri in order to help the students get the best industry exposure thereby upgrading their skills. He emphasized on how Sahyadri was able to attract highest number of companies with excellent package and being consistent is what lies in the crux of the institution.
Dr. Rajesha S, Principal also interacted with the parents and explained the Academic aspects of the Engineering program. A total of 185 parents attended the interaction session in three different batches.
Alumnus interacts with Final year MBAs
Mr. Akshay Rane (Batch 2019-21), Audit Associate at KPMG, Bengaluru met the faculty and also interacted with the final year MBA students. He spoke about hiring process at KPMG, work culture and competencies to develop during their MBA course. He also encouraged students to develop the hobby of Blog writing and Word Press can be utilized to begin with. He further mentioned how he earned through Blogging during his MBA days. His area of Blogging was on Cricket and stimulated students to focus on a particular subject and target audience and start investing time on Blogging that will not only enhance communication skills but also helps to earn while learning.
Sahyadri Wrestling Team Wins Silver and Bronze Medal in VTU Inter-Collegiate Wrestling Competition
Swaraj D Puthran, 7th Semester, Mechanical Engineering won Silver Medal in upto 74 Kg category and Dheeraj D Puthran, 7th Semester, Electronics & Communication Engineering won Bronze Medal in upto 84 Kg category in Wrestling Competition held At VDIT, Haliyal during 16th to 17th Dec, 2021.

Third year Engineering students selected for the 2nd cohort of i2E LAB
Two projects titled ‘Low-cost ventilator along with aerosol therapy’ by Ankith S and Chithritha Karkera, Information Science & Engineering and Harshith from Computer Science & Engineering mentored by Dr. Shreyas Rao and ‘Re-धी: Redefining Sex Education’ by Namitha Muraleedharan and Prathiksha Rao from Computer Science & Engineering, mentored by Mr. Gautham Nayak and Mr. Gouse Khan have successfully entered the next round of i2E Lab that will commence from the 1st week of January, 2022.
