A total of six students from Mechanical Engineering from the 2022 passing out batch have been recruited by Windcare India. About the company: Windcare India Private Limited which was established in the year 2001 is now a reputed name in the Indian wind energy sector and emerging as a global ISP. With a strong team of dedicated intellectuals led by Mr. S. Antonyraj – CEO Wind care is stimulated to develop concepts which cater to an ever-increasing demand for innovation in the sector. As a result of this, their innovative "without crane technology" was developed - a technology which is used for dismantling and re-erection of Wind turbine components without the use of heavy duty cranes. Apart from all the works beginning from wind potential and micro siting, land procurement, erection, commissioning, operation and maintenance etc., they have developed a STATE OF ART new technology

Dept. of Business Administration-MBA holds its first Board of Studies (BoS) Meeting

Dept. of Business Administration-MBA held its first Board of Studies (BoS) meeting on 23rd Dec, 2021 for the current academic year 2021-22 as a part of Autonomous status granted to Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management (SCEM). The meeting mainly focused on Proposed Scheme, Proposed Curriculum, and Justification for the changes, Evaluation Methods and Model Question Paper. The BoS members appreciated the efforts of the Department for keeping the current trend in focus while designing the curriculum and shared their inputs which made the meeting worthwhile.

Earlier in November 2021, by recommendations of the University Grants Commission (UGC), New Delhi, and the Government of Karnataka, Sahyadri is conferred with autonomy by the Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi for a period of 10 years (AY: 2021-22 to 2030-31).

CSE Dept. organized Online Technical Talk on “Learning Industry Domain Knowledge for Young Entrepreneurs and Innovators”

On 26th Dec, 2021, Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering in association with Institute Innovation Council, Ministry of Human Resource Development Initiative, organized a Technical Talk on “Learning Industry Domain Knowledge for young entrepreneurs and Innovators” for Faculty members and Students through Google Meet Platform. The Resource Person was Mr. Manoj Kumar Lal, Consultant-Tata Consultancy Services.
During the first half of the session, Dr. Manjappa S, President - Sahyadri Institute Innovation Council, Director-R&D and Consultancy addressed the gathering and emphasized on the significance of Institute Innovation Council, Sahyadri Initiatives and Limited Liability Partnerships. Dr. Manjappa also encouraged practical and project oriented training in Sahyadri’s teaching-learning Process.
During the second half, the Resource Person gave an overview on the need to seed industry domain knowledge in academia for increased Employability. He Introduced to Knowledge Driven Development (KDD) and an example to the Retail Banking domain showing Domain knowledge, Enterprise Knowledge as well as Project Knowledge. He briefed on the Knowledge Driven Development Literature and Implementation Considerations in academia.
Dr. Anush Bekal, Vice President, Sahyadri Institution Innovation Council, Head of Dept. of Electronics & Communication Engineering, gave the Keynote address to implement the concept as Module in the Courses offered in Computer Science & Engineering. Dr. Pushpalatha K, Head of Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering, mentioned that adding the Practical Knowledge as a course will be beneficial for the students in reaching the industry standards. Prof. G B Janardhan Swamy, Convenor, Institution Innovation Council, Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering and Prof. Sharathchandra N R, Coordinator Institution Innovation Council, Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering coordinated the event.

Faculty Members participate in the Poster Presentation in Bengaluru Tech Summit

Dr. Ananth Prabhu G and Mr. Chandra Singh, Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering, presented a Research Poster in Bengaluru Tech Summit on the topic “Detection of Deep fake Viral Videos Created to Instill Panic during Pandemic”. The poster was a presentation of the funded project received by the authors from cyseck. The prototype will be given to the Karnataka Police Cyber Crime wing to analyze Deep Fake videos.
