Inauguration of Sahyadri Management Students Association (SMSA) AY 2021-22

The Sahyadri Management Students Association (SMSA) for the Academic year 2021-22 was inaugurated by Ms. Veena T Shetty, Dty. General Manager (Training), MRPL, Mangaluru as the Chief Guest along with Ms. Shivani Rai, Branch Manager, HDFC Ltd and Mr. Shreyas Shetty, Event Organizer-Kanasu Events as the Alumni (MBA Batch 2016-18) Guests on 19th Feb, 2022.
Dr. Vishal Samartha, Director-MBA Program welcomed the gathering and shared the glimpse of Sahyadri and its achievements to the guests. The office bearers were lead through oath taking by Prof. Samarth Shenoy, Dept. of Business Administration. Mr. Pavandeep Rai, President of SMSA unfurled the Plan of Action of the Academic Year 2021-22.
Ms. Veena T Shetty, during her inaugural address expressed how delighted she was to visit Sahyadri and be among the future Management Gurus. She referred to Sahyadrians as creative individuals since they spend most of their time by the Banks of River Nethravathy, the Jeevanadhi of Dakshina Kannada District. She further added - Nature teaches us more than what formal education does and hence Sahyadrians are blessed to be among nature during their course period. Referring to how Banana trees yield fruits inspite of knowing they will be cut down once harvested, she re-iterated that human life is beautiful and if intelligence is utilized well, one can lead a purposeful life. Sharing anecdotes she also mentioned that one should preserve the emotions and create connections and excitedly proclaimed that an individual should have atleast 1or 2 madness and do what your heart tells you to do.

Ms. Shivani Rai, re-iterated that Sahyadri gives a lot of opportunities but it is up to the students how they utilize it and turn it to their advantage. She assured to help her alma mater on any matters related to the students and their growth and concluded her words stating that - Network is your networth.
Mr. Shreyas Shetty, stimulated the students by mentioning that Ups and Downs in life are common, we are young and hence should never give up. He narrated how his work at Byju's has helped to develop network and pacified the students that Sales is not tough and that it is a great career option.
Mr. Ramesh K G, Dean Strategic Planning, in his Presidential remarks expressed how happy he was to know that Shivani Rai, an HR Alumni is heading a finance firm and that one should be extremely competent to be promoted in HDFC Ltd. Sahyadri is proud of her achievements. He urged the students to take forward the messages shared by guests and capitalize on the opportunities.

ISE Faculty clears UGC National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET)

Prof. Ganaraj K, Dept. of Information Science & Engineering has cleared the UGC NET held in November 2021.
UGC NET is a National Level Exam conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) in order to select candidates for only Assistant Professor or both Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Assistant Professor in Indian universities and colleges.
