Yash Koradiya, Shishir Alva S and Cathy Verginia Fernandes from the Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering and Chandana Gunaga from the Dept. of Electronics & Communication Engineering have been recruited by Sonata Software through the recently held virtual recruitment Drive. They have been hired for the role of Digital Engineer Trainees.

Session on “Secret of Success” on the occasion of National Youth Day and Tribute to Swami Vivekananda

Youth On the occasion of National Youth Day and tribute to the teachings of Swami Vivekananda on empowering youth, the Sahyadri NSS unit organized a session on “Secret of Success” facilitated by Dr. Shikaripura Krishnamurthy, Director of Abhiyaanam, Mangaluru for the 1st year Engineering students on 12th Jan, 2022.
Dr. Shikaripura Krishnamurthy, in his talk, emphasized on the qualities that youth need to possess in order to be a good leader. Out of all the references shared by Dr. Krishnamurthy, the most inspiring was - “how a deer goes in search of a sweet musk in its surroundings rather than realizing that the smell is within it”. Leadership is all about realizing one’s own Musk and nurture it.

He voiced out that the key to success is not just hard work but being smart to prioritize the task and effectively utilize the available resources. His session was concluded with the “12 secrets of success” and urged students to practice it in their daily life. A total of 100 students participated in the session along with faculty of different departments.
Dr. Nalini Elizabeth Rebello, Dean Academics, gave the Presidential address. Dr. Prashanth Rao, Head of Basic Science and Dr. Joyline Dsa, Associate Dean-Student Welfare was present during the session. Ms. Rashmitha G Nishal, Student Welfare Officer coordinated the session.

Joyline Dr. Joyline Germine Dsa, Associate Professor, Dept. of Electronics & Communication Engineering has been appointed as Associate Dean-Student Welfare. She has been assigned to oversee the responsibilities concerning to Students Grievance, Students Council & Counseling, Sports & Culture Activities, AICTE 100 Point Activities, tasks related to AICTE Students 3600 feedback and Mentoring Process in addition to regular academics, Research and Consultancy.

Placement and Training: Infosys Orientation session

Infosys Infosys hosted an exclusive session for students to share all about InfyTQ, Infosys Certification, and HackWithInfy.
The key topics of discussion included a complete walk through of InfyTQ platform and its features, an introduction to the learning courseware available on InfyTQ, an introduction to the fifth edition of HackWithInfy program and the Upcoming opportunities at Infosys.
They also launched two important programs for this year: Infosys Certification program for the 2023 batch and HackWithInfy for 2023, 2024 and 2025 batch.
Infosys Certification is a technology accreditation that endorses industry-readiness of students and helps them build a career of their choice. The examination process for Infosys Certification will test students’ knowledge in programming and databases. Students who clear the examination become an ‘Infosys Certified Software Programmer’ and receive multiple opportunities to secure a job at Infosys.
HackWithInfy is a coding competition for engineering students across India. To students passionate about programming, HackWithInfy competition offers –
• A chance to compete with top programmers in India
• Cash prizes worth INR 350,000 to the winners
• Pre-placement interview opportunities for Specialist Programmer and Digital Specialist Engineer roles at Infosys.
