National Voter’s Day Celebration

National Voter’s Day is celebrated on 25th January to encourage the youth to participate in the voting electoral process. It was started from 25th Jan, 2011 to mark Commission's foundation day. It is celebrated in order to encourage the youth to participate in the electoral process but also focuses on the fact that the right to vote is a basic right. The theme of this year’s celebration of National Voters Day is “Making Elections Inclusive, Accessible and Participative”. On account of National Voter’s Day, Sahyadri actively took part in the pledge taking ceremony, where students took the pledge of voting without fail and without any prejudice based on caste, religion, race, community, language or any other inducement.

MBA Faculty addresses the students of Trisha Vidya College of Commerce & Management, Mangaluru and Udupi

Prof. Disha C Shetty, Dept. of Business Administration-MBA was invited to address 500+ students of Trisha Vidya College of Commerce & Management, Mangaluru and Udupi on the topic - "Dismantling myths about Personal Growth" on virtual mode on 20th Jan, 2022. She inspired students with anecdotes of her life and influenced them to follow their passion just like how she balances her passion along with her career. The talk was well received and yielded a remarkable response from the recipient end.

73rd Republic Day Celebration :
Dr. Niranjan Rai, Ayurveda Physician, Dhanvantari Clinic, Uppinangadi, is the Chief Guest of the programme. Dr. Niranjan Rai is born in Mangaluru and brought up in Mumbai. He did his Basic Studies till 12th under Bombay University and did BAMS in Koppa, under Kuvempu University, Shimoga. He continued to practice medicine in Uppinangadi in his traditional Ayurvedic clinic started by his grandfather, Lt. Venkappa Rai in 1930. In 2012, he started Dhanvantari Hospital in Uppinangadi and now running a 25 bedded hospital. He has actively involved in Environmental activities. He has deep interest in preserving culture and folklore. He also led the landmark protest against Netravathi river diversion project in DK district.
