Bridge Course: MBA Academic Year 2021-22

Day One (4th Jan, 2022)

MBA Aspirants admitted to Sahyadri MBA on Management quota, undergo a 6-day Bridge course during 4th to 10th Jan, 2022. A series of sessions are lined up with an effort to bridge the gap in skills in an undergraduate, gaining entry to post graduate course. During the Day One of the Bridge Course, the first session was handled by Dr. Vishal Samartha, Director-MBA Program. Referring to the new batch as “The new members of the family”, she gave the brief history of the college, introduction to the Chairman of the institution - Mr. Manjunath Bhandary and shared her experience on having positive attitude, and trying all opportunities that life throws to us.

Next session was facilitated by Prof. Ramesh K G, Dean-Strategic Planning. He started off the session with an interesting activity, where the students were separated from their comfort zone to find comfort in what they felt was “uncomfortable". He then gave few insights of the recent trends from all over the country and explained the importance of having a good network and collaboration. The last event was an “Ice-Breaker” session facilitated by Prof. Padmanabha B, Dept. of Business Administration. It was an activity-based session - introducing self without revealing the name, thinking out of the box, recognizing what is present in our life but not noticed. First day came to an end with power packed sessions and huge learning outcomes to ponder upon.

Udbhav Sahyadri Tech LLP: Winner of Amrita Startups under Elevate Unnati 2021

After clearing the multi-city pitching round held at K-Tech, Udbhav Sahyadri Tech LLP was declared as one of the Finalist of Elevate Unnati 2021. Prof. G B Janardhana Swamy, Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering and Director-Udbhav Sahyadri Tech LLP pitched the Business Plan of Udbhav Sahyadri Tech LLP. Prof. Ashwin Kumar, Dept. of Electronics & Communication Engineering was also present during pitching.
The Idea2PoC Evaluation Committee has recommended INR 20,00,000/- (Rupees Twenty Lakhs) for Udbhav Sahyadri Tech LLP (Idea/ Project) under IDEA2PoC Grant Scheme (Elevate-Unnati) of Karnataka Startup Policy, KITS, Dept. of Electronics, IT, Bt and S&T Govt. of Karnataka.

ECE Faculty Members Publish Book Chapter in Springer

Springer Book Chapter article titled - "Smart Agriculture Using IoT and Machine Learning" authored by Prof. Sumiksha Shetty, and Prof. Smitha A B, Dept. of Electronics & Communication Engineering, has been published by Springer in its book titled - "Smart Agriculture Automation Using Advanced Technologies".

Dr. Abhishek Vaish, IIIT, Allahabad delivered a Talk to first year CSE-Cyber Security students

Dr. Abhishek Vaish is an active researcher in the field of Cyber Security. He addressed the first year CSE-Cyber Security students on the following aspects

Dept. of Mechanical Engineering organized Hands-on Training on “Tribological Studies and Experimentation Using Tribometer”

In view of nurturing application oriented and value added research, Dept. of Mechanical Engineering always thinks unique and introduces initiatives for the benefit of faculty and students. Every week, the students are given insights on opportunities in research.
On 3rd Jan, 2022, Prof. Vinay B U, trained 11 final year Mechanical Engineering students with “Hands-on Training On Tribological Studies and Experimentation Using Tribometer” in the Advance Wear Testing Lab on tribological studies of engineering materials using the tribometer and gave them insights on applications and career opportunities in the field of Tribology.
