Dept. of CSE Conducts PAC Meeting

The Program Assessment Committee (PAC) Meeting of the Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering was conducted on 16th July'2022. Dr. Pushpalatha K, HOD and Prof. Sharathchandra, NBA Coordinator, welcomed the PAC members and the faculty present in the meeting. Prof. Sharathchandra presented the current statistics of each criterion. Prof. Gurusiddayya Hiremath, External Member, Dept. of Electronics & Communication Engineering, pointed out the difficulties in tracking students pursuing higher education after certain years of graduation.
Prof. G B Janardhana Swamy emphasized on the institution's requirement to be recognized with NIRF ranking. Prof. Suhas A Bhyaratae proposed a plan to improve students attendance status in order to achieve good results. Dr. B C Prem Kumar made a point on targeting students for admission with excellent ranking in CET.

Team Challengers conducted a Workshop on 'Web Development' for first year engineering students

Team Challengers organized a Two-Day workshop for first year Engineering students on 'Web Development' on 15th and 16th July'2022. The session was conducted by Al Ashqan Babu (2nd year CSE), Leonard Yesudas (2nd year CSE) and Rachana Shetty (2nd year ISE).
On Day One, Mr. Al Ashqan Babu gave insights about hypertext markup language (HTML) and on Day Two, Mr. Leonard Yesudas spoke about cascading style sheets (CSS). Students had to design their own portfolio website on the 2nd day of the workshop using all the knowledge they gained throughout the session. This practical session helped the students to know the importance of web designing and how to design a web page using HTML and CSS.

Dr. Prabhu interacts with the parents at the SDM School, Mangaluru

Dr. Ananth Prabhu G, Professor in the Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering and Principal Investigator at the Digital Forensics and Cyber Security Centre was invited by the Management of the SDM School Mangaluru to interact with 800+ Parents of the students of their school.
There were 3 sessions:

For KG to Grade 1 - Social Behavior in students due to pandemic

For Grades 2 to 5 - Learning disabilities: early detection and solution

For Grades 6 to 9 - Conversation that parents need to have with pre-teens and teenagers.

All the sessions concluded with exhaustive Q and A. Principal of the School Mrs. Joy Rai, Correspondent Mrs. Shrutha Jithesh, office bearers of the PTA and others were present.
