International Yoga Day Celebrated in the Campus

Sahyadri organized a One-Week Yoga Session during 13th to 21st, June 2022 in order to observe the International Yoga Day being celebrated throughout the world.

On the concluding day - 21st June, 2022, the Chief Guest - Dr. Jnaneshwar Nayak, while addressing the students and staff, spoke about the importance of Yoga and demonstrated the right way of performing Yoga. Dr. Rajesha S, Principal, while speaking on the occasion, threw light on how Yoga can bring positive changes in day to day life. He stressed on the potential of Yoga to provide both health and happiness by improving the physical and mental well-being of individuals. Mr. Kiran Prabhu was the Yoga instructor who facilitated the weeklong Yoga session in the campus. This not only created awareness on Yoga and its benefits but also helped to balance the Body and the Brain.

Donations to the Sahyadri Corpus Fund

"Charity begins at home but should not end there". Standing true to this adage is our alumni Mr. Subrao S, Information Science Engineer from the Batch 2019, who bestowed One Lakh rupees for the development of the institution out of good will. He is currently working for Cognizent Technology Solutions, Bengaluru.

Poojya Dr. Bhimeshwar Joshi, Dharmadhikari of Sri Horanadu Annapoorneshwari Temple, the well-wisher of Sahyadri and a dear friend of Mr. Manjunath Bhandary has donated a sum of Rs. 1 Lakh to Sahyadri Corpus Fund. Dr. Joshi is appreciative of the student-centric initiatives driven in the institute and profoundly wishes to contribute to the development of youth.Sahyadri is highly gratified by the act of tenderness.

Placements and Training: Session on Merchant Navy for Mechanical Engineering Students

An interactive session on 'Merchant Navy' was held for the 3rd year Mechanical Engineering students on 21st June 2022. The session was facilitated by Mr. Anuraag Nair who is currently working with Anglo-Eastern Ship Management as a 3rd Engineer. He joined Anglo-Eastern Maritime Academy in 2015 and he started sailing on the container ships in the year 2016. He has also done his General in cargo ships.
Mr. Anuraag Nair briefed on the recruitment process in Ango-Eastern and the criteria they look for in students during the selection process. He also shared his experience in the ship and pros and cons of joining Merchant Navy. Students were interactive during the session.

Article of Research Scholar mentored by Dr. Prabhu and Dr. Mustafa published in Complex and Intelligent Systems (Q1, SCI Journal)

Research Scholar in the Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering - Mr. Rohan Don Salins, mentored by Professors of Computer Science and Engineering - Dr. Ananth Prabhu G and Dr. Mustafa Basthikodi, published a research paper titled 'Person identification from arm's hair patterns using CT-twofold Siamese network in forensic psychiatric hospitals', in Springer's SCI indexed Q1 journal 'Complex and Intelligent Systems', which is open access and available at https://doi.org/10.1007/s40747-022-00771-0.
