Valedictory Ceremony: Antaragni-2022

Dr. Niranjan Samani, Doctor and Influencer and Er. Preksha Thej, Alumna and Proprietor of Thej Consultants were the Guest of Honour for the Valedictory Ceremony of Antaragni-2022 organized by SPACE, a Student Association in the Dept. of Civil Engineering. Dr. Nalini E Rebello, Professor, Dept. of Civil Engineering welcomed the gathering and introduced Antaragni-2022 to the audience.

Prof. Vijayalaxmi Kedilaya B, Dept. of Civil Engineering read the Annual SPACE Report highlighting the significant events organized under SPACE. Dr. Niranjan Samani, in his address, emphasized on the need of making important career choices and doing what one is genuinely interested in rather than succumbing to societal pressure. He even narrated anecdotes of his life to motivate students. Er. Preksha Thej, in her address inspired students to take engineering more seriously and go in for industrial projects as internship. She described the various career options in the field of Civil Engineering. This was followed by Prize Distribution for various competitions held during the Three-Day event - Antaragni 2022 in which Eighth Semester-A Section won the Overall Championship.
The event was followed by Farewell Program for the final year students and a memento was gifted to all final year students. Prof. Sunil Kumar K, Dept. of Civil Engineering; Mr. Akshay Gowda, President, SPACE and Mr. Manoj Kumar, Vice-President, SPACE were present on the dais.

Placements and Training: Sahyadri signs MOU with Zenken

Sahyadri signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Mr. Abhishek SN, Business Operations Lead-Zenken; Teruaki Kashiwabara, Japan Career Consultant-Zenken and Ms. Rashmi Bhandary, Dean-Career Guidance Training and Placement Department on 22nd June 2022. MoU was signed for the Campus Placement. As an outcome of the MoU, Zenken will not be charging either students or the institution for the placement activities as they always think of students' success as the first priority. They also conducted their first Pre-Placement orientation to the 2023 outgoing batch of Engineering students.
Zenken acts as a bridge company between Indian universities and Japanese firms for Japanese Placement. Zenken also has hired Indian students for the IT and Diversity department. They have helped more than 200 students get placed in reputed companies in Japan. They are delighted to share that their offered candidates are in Japan after the relaxation of travel restrictions due to Covid-19
