Research Article published in Elsevier Journal: Faculty of Dept. of Physics

Article A Research Article titled - 'Influence of 8 MeV Electron Irradiation on the Properties of ZnO Nanocrystalline Thin Films for Optoelectronic Devices' authored by Dr. F. Jyothi Serrao, Associate Professor and Dr. Navin N Bappalige, Associate Professor, Dept. of Engineering Physics has been published in the International Journal of 'Thin Solid Films' (SCI indexed, Q2, Elsevier Journal, Impact factor 2.183).
In this research work, ZnO thin films were prepared by sol-gel spin coating method and films were subjected to high energy (8 MeV) electron beam irradiation in the air at room temperature using an electron beam accelerator at Microtron Centre, Mangalore University, India. Then the influence of high energy (8MeV) electron beam on the structural, optical and electrical properties of ZnO thin films was investigated. The obtained results show that electron irradiation is a feasible alternative approach to improve the performance of the ZnO films for the optoelectronic device in a high radiation environment.
