ISE Dept. organizes a Webinar on 'Social Agripreneurship through Environment friendly farming - The Green Commandos'

Dept. of Information Science & Engineering in association with IEEE Student Branch- SCEM, STAISE, IEI and SAHYADRI-IIC organized a Webinar on 'Social Agripreneurship through Environment friendly farming - The Green Commandos' on 30th June'2022 using Google Platform. The resource person for the event was Samir Bordoloi, An Ashoka Fellow. He has won several accolades for his work including the IARI Most Innovative Farmer of the Country award in 2019, Krishak Ratna award in 2018, the Best Agripreneur of the country award in 2017 and Pragati Puraskar in 2016. During the session, he explained how youth as Green Commandos at his training centre, create a strong network of change-makers who support each other and promote zero-cost organic farming. He also illustrated how these youngsters also help in creating marketing linkages for the farmers by connecting them to urban centres so that they earn a dignified income. He emphasized on the importance of promoting local crops and traditional farming, through Agripreneurship. A total of 65 students participated in the webinar. Prof. Madhura N Hegde coordinated the event.

Dr. Prabhu interacts with staff of Cardolite Specialty Chemicals India LLP, Mangaluru

Dr. Ananth Prabhu G, Professor in the Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering and Principal Investigator at the Digital Forensics and Cyber Security Centre was invited by Cardolite Speciality Chemicals India LLP to interact with their staff about Cyber Security.
Dr. Prabhu in his two-hour lecture spoke about the various cyberattacks, techniques to harden the systems in their organization and best practices. Mr. Shailendra Bhatkhande, VP for Global Operations; Mr. Gopalkrishna K from Police Department and others were present. 60+ staff from different departments including the IT were present.
