Happy Mahashivarathri

Mahashivarathri is one of the most auspicious Hindu festivals celebrated in honour of Lord Shiva. Maha Shivarathri literally translates as the great night of Shiva. It is considered auspicious as it is supposed to be the night of convergence of Shiva and Shakti - the embodiment of love, power, and oneness.
It is celebrated all over the country and the devotees of Lord Shiva 'Fast' and do 'Jagaran' all through the night. Special pooja's are performed in the temples on that day.
There are certain reasons behind the celebrations of 'Mahashivarathri'
● Some say Maha Shivratri is the Day when Lord Shiva came in the form of Lingam ("Lingodbhav Moorti").
● While some say, it is the day when Lord Shiva did 'Shiva Tandavam' (Dance) all the night.
● Others believe that on this day Lord Shiva drank "Halaa Hal" (poison) for the sake of the world and became "Neelakanth".
● There are others who also believe that this is the day when Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvathi got married.

MBA faculty facilitates Training for the employees of Zeuse Fitness Club, Mangaluru

Prof. Sushma V, Dept. of Business Administration was invited to Train the employees of Zeuse Fitness Club, Mangaluru on "Professionalism and Branding" on 26th Feb, 2022. The Training Need Assessment was done through an interview with the Managing Partner of Zeuse Fitness Club, Mr. Rajesh in order to facilitate a tailor-made training that suits the needs of the employees including the Gym Trainers and the Front office Staff.
Participants had an opportunity to do their self-assessment, followed by the SWOC of their organization in a group activity. At the end of the training, the participants left with a commitment of branding self and their organization in social media platforms effectively, Retain their customers through excellent customer experience, Attract new customers through word of mouth and dedicate to learning in order to keep enhancing their quality of service.
As an outcome of the training, Zeuse Fitness Club wants to onboard an MBA Marketing student on Paid Internship followed by Job Offer. They also want more of Training programmes being conducted for their staff through MBA HR Students.

Arduino Workshop organized by TCE

As a part of the Prototyping Course, Technical Career Education (TCE) Pvt Ltd, conducted a 3-hour workshop on Arduino for the first-year Engineering students on 26th Feb, 2022. The workshop included hands-on experience for students with electronic components. They completed assembly and learnt how to write simple codes. By the end of the workshop, students built the simple RC bot.

ECE Faculty appointed as Program Committee Member for the International Conference SIGEM 2022 to be held in Zurich, Switzerland

Dr. Sandeep Bhat, Associate Professor, Dept. of Electronics & Communication Engineering has been appointed as the Program Committee Member for the 8th International Conference on "Signal, Image Processing and Embedded Systems (SIGEM 2022)" to be held in Zurich, Switzerland during November 19 to 20, 2022. The proceedings of the conference will be published by Computer Science Conference Proceedings in Computer Science & Information Technology (CS & IT) series.
The conference will provide an excellent international forum for sharing knowledge and results in theory, methodology and applications of Natural Language Computing.
