Sahyadri edition of Smart India Hackathon: Evaluation of the Contestants

Evaluation of the contestants registered for Sahyadri edition of Smart India Hackathon was conducted on 19th March, 2022. Twenty-five teams have participated in the event. Each team consisted of six members.
The participating teams were judged by Mr. Raghav Shetty, RDL Technologies; Mr. Prajwal Shetty, DREAMERS R&D Pvt. Ltd and Mr. Vikas M, NIIT.
The teams lead by K Anup Pai, Abhinav Thodthillaya M, and Rohan Balamkar have been placed First, Second and Third respectively.

Professor in Aerodynamics, IISC Bengaluru discusses about Curriculum Design for Autonomous Structure

Prof. Jagadeesh Gopalan, Professor Aerodynamics, IISC Bengaluru, interacted with the HODs of all the departments on 16th March, 2022. He informed that there will be a paradigm shift in technical education and Sahyadri should be ahead in implementing technological advancements in the curriculum of autonomous batches.
He proposed that Cloud Computing fundamentals should be imparted to the students of all departments. He highlighted how Cyber Physical Systems are gaining prominence and suggested that Micro Control Programming and Sensor laboratories must be mandated for circuit branches. He also suggested that the core branches should study the live data from in-house industries and do the real time data analysis.
Prof. Gopalan said that he would render his full support in framing the curriculum up to the standard and also said that Sahyadri in collaboration with IISC would organize bootcamp sessions to the students of third year.

CSE faculty invited for a Debate Session at Varthabharati

On 21st March, 2022, Prof. Srinivas P M, Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering participated on a LIVE debate with local news channel Varthabharati. The Debate goals were to discuss on the challenges faced in education. The other two guest speakers stressed on Rural Education with changing syllabus according to requirements of the present.

Sahyadri Multi Gymnasium Trainer outshines with two prizes in Body Building Competition

Mr. Jagadish Poojary, Sahyadri Multi Gymnasium Trainer and Staff in the Department Dept. of Basic Science outshines with two prizes in Body Building Competition. He won Second place in "Mr. Karnataka-2022" a state level Body Building Competition which was held in Udupi on 6th March, 2022. He also won First place bagging a gold medal and also the Title winner - "Bedra Classic 2022" in Mr. Dakshina Kannada-2022 District level Body Building Competition held in Moodabidri on 19th March, 2022.
