ISE Dept. organizes a Panel Discussion on 'My Dream Company: Tips to crack!!!''

Dept. of Information Science & Engineering in association with IEEE Student Branch- SCEM, STAISE, SAHYADRI-IIC and IEI Student Chapter, organized a Panel Discussion on 'My Dream Company: Tips to crack!!!'' on 10th May, 2022. The Final year students - Mayur Pai B H, Manjukrishna, Vishnu Udai Kumar, Michel Rego, Suhan Acharya, Shreesha, Swasthik Shetty and Nireeksha M N were the panel members. The Panel members shared their experiences and strategies they followed to attend interviews of various companies including Walmart, Google, GalaxE.Solutions, Cohesity and so on. Further, they gave insights with respect to their preparation of being placed in a dream company. Around 90 students participated in the event. Dr. Shamanth Rai, Head of ISE Dept., moderated the discussion.

Dept. of Mechanical Engineering organized a Demonstration session on 'Visual components and Witness Simulation Software'

With Visual Components, one can manually create statements that define the actions and logic of a robot program. The robot routine and subroutines can easily be visualized and modified. This will help to get familiar with the statements and routines behind a robot program.
Witness on the other hand, is the world's leading software product in the field of visual interactive simulation. In Witness one can model, simulate and optimize discrete event processes, like manufacturing plant processes, supply chain & logistics etc. More than 6500 licenses have been sold worldwide across all industry sectors.
As the Dept. of Mechanical Engineering is incorporating Robotics and Automation Course from the upcoming academic year, this session intended to give the glimpse of the software to faculty members. The demo session was organized by Dept. of Mechanical Engineering on 9th and 10th May, 2022 on virtual mode and the demonstration was given by Mr. Siddhesh Tilekar and Satish Thati, IndiaSoft Technologies Pvt Ltd.

Dr Prabhu interacts with the students of Concordia University, Canada

Dr. Ananth Prabhu G, Professor in the Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering and Principal Investigator at the Digital Forensics and Cyber Security Centre interacted with the research students of Concordia University-Montreal Canada along with Dr. Varadraj Prabhu Gurupur, Associate Professor at the University of Central Florida.
In their interaction, they spoke about Intelligent Information Systems and Data Incompleteness. When a dataset contains missing values, it is referred to as an incomplete dataset. Missing values in manufacturing industries frequently occur due to sensor failure, particle occlusion, and physical/chemical interferences.
Unfortunately, most of them happen due to unknown causes and unforeseen circumstances. In addition to manufacturing industries, missing value problems also frequently occur in biomedical areas, for instance, microarray profiling - One of the commonly used tools in genomic. The difficulty of processing incomplete data is that when a dataset contains missing values, the corresponding entries are marked with invalid values.
To handle missing-value problems, data imputation is generally used. Data imputation is a statistical term that describes the process of substituting estimated values for missing one's. The other approach is to figure out where the data Incompleteness occurs and take necessary proactive steps to fix this.
Dr. Prabhu also presented a copy of the #CyberSafeGirl v4.1 to Professor Yong Zeng, President of Society for Design and Process Science and Professor at the Concordia University.
